The only information we have is that the plate is made out of a Polycarbonate construction

Yes, all Maddak® Inner-Lip Plates (except for the variation with suction cups) are dishwasher, autoclave, and microwave safe.

Q: Is this plate "weighted" so it will not move around easily?

no, it's not weighted, and that was a problem. Still, the plate was a godsend - especially the red color - since it helped Mom see the food that she couldn't see on a white plate. They're not pretty and not perfect, but a big improvement.

Q: Does this plate scratch?

Because it's plastic, it will scratch if you use a sharp knife on it. The sight of my Mother being able to feed herself again because of this plate far outweighed the scratches. They are not immediately noticeable.
