In the past I have used solar covers that are the traditional blue and was curious to what the difference would be between blue and clear. In my opinion the clear heats up the water to a deeper level than the blue. The blue heats the top few inches and when you get in water mixes up and water below gets warm. The clear does not get the top inches as warm as the blue but heats the water at a deeper level with the overall effect of warmer water. The dimensions were perfect and I did not need to trim. The thickness of the cover is excellent and and will do a grea job and will last many seasons of use. I live in New Mexico and being at such a high elevation we have high UV rays and see a quicker deterioration of plastics exposed to the sun. In the past I have had solar covers of varying quality and have had some that break down and plastic pieces get in the water and in your filters and cause expensive repairs and extra maintenance. This cover is such superior quality that I can just tell from experience that it will last a long time and will be able to use year after year. Yes there are cheaper options but they are inferior in not just materials but function as well. So anyone debating if they should spend a bit more on this brand I highly recommend paying the extra because the quality is so much superior it will save you money in the long run. This is one item that you don't want to skimp on.

These do a great job at staying in place and heating the pool. We live where it is very windy and they have never flew away. After one season it is still in good shape . Good quality, would recommend.

I love the clear solar blankets. I like the thicker ones like this because they hold up a few more years than the blue ones do, generally. That said, I did dock a star since this one is not the same quality as others that are the same thing. I feel that it will not last as long as the other clear ones I've had. It felt almost brittle out of the package, but until I removed it from the shipping bag to use it, it was far past the return timeframe.

Very heavy duty solar pool cover. Heavy weight but works for trying to retain the heat in your pool. Above ground or I ground pools, lay flat over the water, cut to fit pool diameter.

I bought one for a 30' round above ground pool. It's a perfect fit and low profile so the wind doesn't blow it off. I live in Southern Ohio which can get in the mid 90's in the summer but the evenings can often be quite cool in 60's to low 70's which can take the heat out of the pool. Last year, the max temperature the water got was 82 sitting in dirct sunlight in 90 degree days. Put this solar cover on and the water is in the 90's. Feels like swimming in the Caribbean, no more ball shrinkage getting into chilly water! It allows us to stay in the pool longer when the sun goes down due to the warm water. The cover holds the heat in on chilly evenings, prevents water evaporation & helps keep a lot of debris like leaves out as well. I am super satisfied with this purchase. The cover is light weight and easy to remove and put back on.

Works great

After 4 months the bubbles started to fall off and get into my filter. It’s now six months and the bubbles are falling off so rapidly that it can’t be used. No tears it’s thick and it really does keep the water warm. It’s very helpful in keeping the pool clean as well. Not so user-friendly when you try to remove it and not dump the debris on top back into the pool. I feel there should be a one year return policy for an exchange if the bubbles peel off to compensate for its price.

Good quality, durable but not so durable that it’s difficult to fold and maneuver around the pool. I live in western ny, I keep this cover on my pool from may-September and only take it off to swim or vacuum the pool. It blocks a lot of debris from getting in and significantly cuts back on water loss from evaporation. I’ve so far used it for 2 summers and it still looks new……Also, I have an 18’ round pool, I ordered the 18’ round cover, there’s about an inch and a half of overlap that can easily be trimmed off. I did not, I found that the overlap helps keep the cover from spinning when the pump is on and makes it so the debris can’t sneak off the edges and go right down into the pool. The only drawback is that when it rains the rainwater has no way of draining down into the pool and just sits on top. I have to either scoop it off or skim through it and clean out as much crap as possible before pulling the cover up on to the deck allowing it to drain off into the pool . Either way, it’s a good cover and also does help a bit with heating and retain heat overnight and on chillier days. It won’t perform miracles in that aspect but you can definitely feel a difference.

Was expensive and find it works the same as a cheap blue cover.
