Great variation in line thickness when doing calligraphy. However, with a bigger ballpoint tip, the ink tends to leave some ink residue that makes the letters smudge at little. Need to constantly wipe the tip with tissue. Overall it was great

Exceeded expectations

I bought these pens a month ago. I never really looked closely at them til I went to use them. The colored pens have no ink in them. The only pens with ink are the black, blue and red. Very disappointed. Apparently I'm not getting my money refunded or a replacement. Live and Learn. The first picture shows what I'm talking about. The red pen has ink and the pink pen is empty no ink. If you look closely the black, blue and red pens have ink but the colored pens in the last picture have no ink. so buyer beware.

If you're a student in med or dental school, these pens are great for getting thicker lines when diagraming pathways, etc. They don't bleed through like sharpie pens, but they DO smear. I use these in addition to the Pilot EasyTouch Fine tip pens (which are the smoothest pens to take notes with!) for my school notes.My major complaints overall for these pens are:1) The pens come with a wax cover over the pen (like most new pens) - HOWEVER, this wax is SUPER cheap and it can't be pulled off in one try. The wax ends up sticking all over the pen tip and every time I open a new pen, I have to literally wipe the pen off to get the wax off, or I put it in the fridge, let it harden and then try to take all the wax off. If you try to do it at room temp, the wax gets all into the pen tip and it ruins the way the pen writes. It's SUPER annoying.2) Uncapping the pen commonly results in the tip coming undone (see attached pic). This is also super annoying. I've taken to supergluing the pen tips in so that they stop coming out along with the cap.3) There's no orange pen. Idk why.Overall, its an okay pen for the price. My note taking arsenal includes the Pilot EasyTouch fine tip for everyday notes, the Staedtler Triplus fineliner pens (highly recommend) for all my felt tip pen needs, and now these Bic ones for my quick diagrams for exam reviewing.

What makes these pens the MUST HAVE pens is the bold lines. Not just regular bold, but extra bold, at 1.6mm. Very hard to find in stores, but oh so glorious to write with when you do find them. This set gives you so many colors, which will allow you to doodle, color, and grade with abandon, let your creative juices flow, and just enjoy making your notebook colorful. Love these pens, about to order another set! One is not enough!
