Great film noir
Great example of film noir. Must see for all Burt Lancaster & Barbara Stanwyk fans.

well worth watching but ... see below
The film padded out the original radio play and reduced the tension. I think I had heard a radio version made AFTER the film and assume that sally hunt and waldo evans were played by different actors from the film both were more direct and less sentimental. The version I heard had fabulous melodramatic incidental music. Some of the films padding out was pathetic - the policeman and the child the doctor dining out. but these are minor criticisms and i don't know whether the version I heard on bbc radio 4 is available on tape or CD
