On this blaster the trigger is fixed. Why they made it a different color as if it were function is anyone's guess. The blaster fires from the pump-action only. In my opinion this is a bad design. Having to use the pump action alone to fire the blaster makes it nearly impossible to aim because the action of pulling the pump toward you (pulling your hands close together) to fire the blaster causes the muzzle of the blaster to be pulled downward, or any other direction other than the intended one. A nerf dart blaster as expensive as this should have a functional trigger mechanism.
