I love, love, love this recipe book . . .
I almost didn't buy this book, due to some of the other reviews but decided to buy it anyway because it looked so cute and kid-friendly. This was so far from a mistake. My daughter loves it, and we're enjoying making the recipes. Sure, it's not an elaborate cookbook, but that's not what I was looking for when purchasing a cookbook for my daughter. It's fun, creatively done and inspiring. The author does well helping teach children about the environmental and health implications of a diet that is not plant-based and encourages children to ask questions and to reflect on their food ... while making it fun. If you're looking for a complicated cookbook with elaborate recipes, it's true that this is not it. But, if you're looking for succinct, uncomplicated recipes to inspire your children to think about their food and to have fun creating it. This is it.

Simple, healthy and empowering
My 6-year old has never had animal meat in her life and loves helping with cooking. We got her this book a year ago and she uses it frequently. Not only has she expanded her tastes but also feels confident about cooking healthy snacks/meal. And as I write this, she is getting ready to make sushi!

Great for snacks and sides, but not meals
This book is beautiful, there's no question of that. The colorful pages and text are lively and fun without being condescending toward children who are just starting out in the kitchen. The great factoids will open up discussions about nutrition and responsible farming. The recipes look really exciting on the page, which might help ease some reluctant kids into the idea of eating more veggies. For kids who are not already eating healthy snacks, it might be a great introduction to new ideas about eating. But here's one heads up: There are very few actual MEAL recipes in here. For example, the "smaller meals" section includes:Seasoned asparagus spearsCinnamon toast (really, does anyone need a recipe for this?)Yogurt with fruit (this is a recipe too?)Apple and peanut butter (and this one?)Toast with avocado on it (again---is this really a recipe or just an idea?)Basil leaves with dabs of vegan cream cheese (okay, this idea was new to me)granolatrail mixetcThese don't seem like meals to me--just snacks or sides. Also, it's worth noting that some people may find some ingredients to be unusual and hard-to-find.That said, the book is really really beautiful. Clearly a labor of love. I do think my daughter will enjoy helping with these. And there are truly some ideas that we haven't tried yet but certainly will be adding to our roster (mushroom jerky, simple cucumber sandwiches, pink cous cous, pretend tuna salad, and more)! Some really fun, simple concepts for lunchboxes and picnics.

Adorable, and simple!
My daughter is 5, and this book is recommended for slightly older children. I got it for her because she has shown so much interest in cooking, and says she wants to open her own restaurant when she grows up. So cute. Of all the holiday presents (scooter, dolls, teddies, etc.), this was her favorite haha.My only issue with it is that it does require adult supervision.. and honestly, that's clearly my fault because she's younger than the book recommends. So, I will not deduct stars from it lol. It's colourful, silly, cute, bright, cheerful, and just an all round great idea. Would love more cook books for kids!

Good, simple recipes
Such a colorful book with easy, appealing recipes. The other reviews are right about a lot of recipes being snacks but it works for us as we were looking for quick, easy, kid friendly recipes. The book does contain a lot of things like quinoa and kale which might be hard to get your kids into if they aren’t adventurous eaters. Simple recipes for my toddlers and we can whip these recipes up together quickly.Already made the chocolate chia pudding and the lentil salad and my kids loved both.

Love it!
Love this cookbook! My 6 yr old had fun looking through it with me deciding together on a recipe to try. Our first attempt we made power towers with apples and peanut butter. I had been trying to get him to try apples with peanut butter for years (he loves each item separately but was never interested in trying together) to no avail. Finally, he wanted to try it because the book is fun and the recipe made it look cool. He loved it!!I probably won't use a lot of the recipes since they include ingredients we don't usually have, but that is okay. I have learned over the years that plant-based eating has lots of nit picky subtleties and I just ignore the ingredients we don't use and move on. Very fun way to involve the kids in cooking and in getting them interested in trying new healthy things. Love, Love!

AMAZING!!!!
This book is AMAZING! I love it and so does my 8 year old! It’s written perfectly for kids to truly learn, but to have a great time while doing it!I love it so much anyway though and will be buying them for some of my friends and family! It’s encouraging and I love that it tells the child how strong and capable they are and that they can make a huge difference in the world!

complete waste of money don't buy
This book just consists of pages of how to cut up different vegetables to make supposedly tasty treats for your children. My 2 children who are vegetarian and love cooking did not find a single recipe the inspired them. If I was trying to put them off eating vegan food this cookbook would have achieved it. I have never given anything 1 star before but I think the information is completely inaccurate and although the book has glossy pictures it has no interesting recipes or even a single recipe that I would want to eat .

Loved by 3 year old granddaughter
My vegan daughter wanted an easy plant based cookbook to make dishes with her daughter aged 3. I was almost put of buying this by the negative reviews; so pleased I wasn't. This book is a winner with the whole family. My granddaughter refers to it as the lunch book. "lets see what we can make for lunch today" She is also now eating some foods she wouldn't eat before i.e. avocado; she loves the avocado chocolate mousse. Her parents really enjoyed the lemony kale salad. Would highly recommend.

Wow! Perfect!
My daughter (7yrs) absolutely adores this book! Every day she's looking through it searching for more delicious things to make. The simple pasta sauce is now her favourite! Not only is she enjoying cooking but I'm sure she's eating well and learning too. Very happy vegan mama!
