Effective, easy to use and good value
Really effective traps, just set it and forget it then check the light from time to time.Worked well in my garage to get rid of some pesky mice. Very easy to clean and reset, battery life seems solid and the value is great given the thing is reusable indefintely.

Effective and the most humane method in my opinion
The media could not be loaded. These are proving to be very efficient, in my opinion they are the most humane method of eliminating the mice. I love animals and hate that I have to kill them, but they have been a problem for my house for years and destroy electrics and leave waste everywhere.***do not whole hand grab this when switched on š³š¬, itās shocking š¬š«£ make sure you switch it off before picking it up***Would be great if they were cheaper as Iāve had to invest in 6 of these for one for each room š«£

Bait taken. No rodent found inside.
The media could not be loaded. The unit was baited with peanut butter and over a month later still had no result, no bait had been taken and no rodent was zapped. Tried a new bait, bite size shredded wheat biscuits, and within hours the lights were flashing. But there was nothing inside the unit and the bait had been taken! I want to return the item but the screen just shows a troubleshooting list and none of it is relevant and options are just yes or no to whether the list helped. After that is just a continue shopping button. Seems no way to return the faulty item.

Works, easy to use, hands free disposal
Put the bait in, left in late afternoon along wall where neighbour's dog had been going mental. Checked in morning, slow flashing green light and a tail poking out. Was easy to take top off and disposal ideas rat without touching it. Just cleaned it, letting it airdry and will put out again in case more than one rat.Tip I got from other reviewers, DO use a cotton bud to deposit bait. Nutella and/or smooth peanut butter best as crunchy peanut butter might get nut bit fall onto plate.I used a dab of nuttella a dab of peanut butter and some leftover bone marrow fat from a saucepan I'd been boiling a marrow bone in.I had tried bait traps before but it hadn't eaten them, found a pile of snail shells right by one so decided to jump to this. Wish had skipped the bait traps and gone straight for this!

Works great, really pleased.
This is the second mousetrap we have bought. The original was £50 but was not very good at all, it's like the mice were laughing at use - they took the bait but never activated the trap. However, this one is great. The mice laugh no more. We've had it a couple of weeks and it has caught a mouse every night apart from 2. Very simple to setup and very easy to empty. We just put a bit of peanut butter inside and that seems to be enough to lure them in. I highly recommend it.

Works a treat - very effective
I bought a previous model of an electronic killer and though it was effective, it was difficult to clean. This OWLTRA OW-1 is excellent. Most importantly it is effective. It has been triggered nine times, with eight mice humanely killed. Only one lucky mouse managed to avoid getting killed in the trap. You can see how effective the actual kill is by the fact each mouse has been killed without leaving a pee or poo mess. Instantaneous in every case. There has not been a single occasion that the bait has been touched without the device being triggered so I am 100% confident that other than 'the one that got away' there have been no instances where the mouse has entered without triggering the flashing green alert light and meeting it's end.The great thing about this trap is that the top is easily removed for cleaning. Even though I have not had to do it, I do it as a matter of routine to ensure the metal plates are going to be as conductive as possible. I suspect the failure of some users is to do this simple process. If the plates are not clean, they won't be as effective. Because the top comes off it is also much easier to place bait in the correct position.I used to hate cleaning the previous device and it was a bit of a pain to put peanut butter in the right place. This OWLTRA has addressed both problems. I'd highly recommend it.

Works great - and I don't need to look at the victims!
After success with one of these, I went on to buy a couple more. I've caught 6 or 7 mice. Success is down to bait (I find honey works well) and placement of the units, I think. You may need to experiment,. They're easy to set-up and, importantly, easy to empty without even looking at what you've captured. A win for everyone - except the mice.
