Wonderful doll but WORST pachaging ever!
Just opened this with my granddaughter and the first thing I must say is this is the worst packaging I've every encountered, and I've seen a lot of doll packages over the years. The twist ties, tape, rubber bands and glue seem a bit excessive. On the other hand the doll is adorable. She has Adrianne and her volcano experiment worked perfectly with a few things from your own kitchen. Nothing unusual so no added expense. We love that she can do the experiment over and over and with different food coloring she had a ball. She had to measure and mix so she needed to use measuring spoons and figure out how much of each ingredient she needed. She even said she "made some interesting OBSERVATIONS on her own. Since she is only 7 this is a great learning experience. The fact that these "girls" are smart, fashionable and have fun is a nice change. I hope they're are more to come. She also loves the stories on Net Flix.

Great Doll
I love this line of dolls. It is a great jumping off point to get your child more interested in science. The dolls hand come off to make it easier to change clothes. I have a couple of tips. First I put all the experiment items once cleaned and dryer in a zip lock bag so they don't get lost. I have also started adding the shoes and hands when she is not being played with to keep from searching for missing item later. My second tip is I use red wine vinegar instead of plain vinegar and red food coloring. The red wine vinegar is not cool looking as red food coloring but I am not getting red stains on anything. We have also experimented with other acids, lemon juice & OJ. The doll is not the worlds best made doll but most of them in her price range are not. Her outfit is cute and she has a lot of play & educational value for the price.

Cute dolls, fun experiment.
My daughter found this series on Netflix and has been obsessed with it. I personally love the fact that these girls are science geeks... I think it's wonderful that they come with science experiments that the kids can enjoy. My daughter has made the volcano erupt numerous times and enjoys it equally every time! They are cute dolls and seem to be well put together.

Mixed Feelings
My sic year old daughter loves this doll! She got it for Christmas and it has been with her most of every day since then. However, there are some flaws with this doll and this set that I feel need to be addressed.First I want to talk about the doll herself. This is a beautiful doll, though I do have some of the same issues with it as I do with Barbies - the high-heeled feet, the impossibly long lashes, the tiny waist and perky breasts - it's a kind of standard that I think is confusing for little girls. However, that is really not my main issue with her. This doll is fully jointed, which means you can really pose and position her. However, it also provides lots of little pieces that tend to fall off. Every day I have to attach body parts that will randomly fall off - legs below the knee, arms at the elbow, hands..... let me tell you, it's a lot of fun to have to search your daughter's bed in the middle of the night, looking for a tiny decapitated hand. I don't know if it's just our doll of if it is a common defect, but it is very frustrating.Secondly I want to address the experiment that comes with the doll. I love the idea - let's make science cool. Let's help girls understand that they can be "girly" but still love STEM. However, the experiment does not seem well thought out. It states that you should start by pouring a tablespoon of baking soda into the volcano, then add food coloring, dish soap, and finally add the vinegar to begin the reaction. Well, a tablespoon of baking soda more than fills the available space in the volcano, with some spilling over the sides. This leaves no space for the other ingredients, and makes it so that when you do add the vinegar, only a small amount reacts with the baking soda, leaving the rest to pour over the sides and onto the plate. It seems to me that the person who made the instructions did not have full knowledge of the size of the pieces that would be included. This made the experiment very frustrating for my daughter, and I know I will have to rework the instructions before we try this again.Ultimately, I have mixed feelings about this product. My daughter loves it, and again I love that it is encouraging STEM in young girls. But I feel that the execution was less than great, and I am not entirely sure I will be purchasing any of the other dolls.
