Brilliant as described

This necklace chain link collar was recommended by my dog trainer and although a little more expensive, well worth the money and will last a lifetime.

Bought this, the gold is more of a rose gold than brass / gold. The links are accurate to the 3mm but in general small loops which looks super flimsy. To add the chain also started to react / tarnish (Turn green) when it had some water on it. Not great.

Tuttavia, dopo un utilizzo prolungato, si evidenzia un’usura della laccatura nera in alcune zone, probabilmente dovuta a sfregamenti o esposizione prolungata a fattori ambientali. Questo non compromette la funzionalità e a mio avviso non è un problema, ma è un aspetto da considerare per chi cerca una finitura estetica duratura. Nel complesso, un prodotto valido e affidabile che consiglierei senza riserve, con la sola raccomandazione di monitorare la tenuta della placcatura nel tempo.

I am extremely disappointed with this Herm Sprenger chain collar. Based on the brand’s reputation and premium pricing, I expected durability and quality—especially for a product intended for dog training and safety. Unfortunately, this collar has failed in a very short amount of time. After only three months of normal use, multiple chain links are already splitting open at the welds. As shown in the attached photo, the rings are visibly separating, which strongly suggests poor welding or substandard manufacturing. This is not cosmetic wear—it is a structural failure that compromises the collar’s integrity. This is particularly concerning because a chain collar is a safety-critical item. If a link fully opens, it could easily break during use, posing a serious risk to the dog. A product at this price point should not show weld separation under normal conditions, especially within just a few months. Given Herm Sprenger’s reputation, this level of quality is unacceptable. I would not trust this collar for continued use, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience. At minimum, I expected longevity and reliability—neither of which this product delivered. For anyone considering this collar: inspect the welds closely and be aware that durability may not match the brand’s claims.
