Exceptional product, one of the only that actually lasts in high traffic areas like floors. It is not easy to work with - it’s basically very sticky paint, not a slurry/peanut butter consistency like actual grout. That means it will get everywhere and you’ll have a lot of scrubbing to do. The results are worth the effort though. If you’re doing large format tiles, save yourself some trouble and just mask off everything except the grout line with tape but if you’ve got lots of little tile or mosaics then skip the tape and send it. For cleanup, I found I saved a ton of time with baby wipes and mr clean magic eraser instead of just water and a sponge. Lay it down (I use a silicone caulk spatula), get it worked into the grout joints, let it sit 20 mins, give the top of the tile a gentle pass with the baby wipes to soften the dried excess and then hit it with the magic eraser. I use the grooved ones to avoid digging into the grout joints, just be careful not to press too hard and drag it out of the joints. Practice a few times before tackling a big section. If you have a porous surface like honed natural marble, it will soak into the pores. Seal the tile before applying the grout refresh!The part you really want to know is whether it lasts - my marble mosaic bathroom floor with white cementitious grout had its lines constantly turned orange from dead skin, moisture and general wear. I applied this 6+ months ago and it still looks brand new. Zero complaints and it’s the only paint style option I’ve ever used that lasts like this. It also seals the existing grout nicely and makes it less prone to collect gunk.

Love this stuff. It colors and seals grout. I've used it to refresh old stained grout. I've used it to color match and seal new grout. I've used it to change the color of a grout (dark grey to bright white took 2-3 coats). It works great! And it keeps grout looking new for years. I've had some applications that are over 5 years old that are still going strong and looking good.It is a bit of a labor of love to apply this. You have to be on the floor, crouched, while you paint it onto the grout with great detail. I use a child's toothbrush for this. As you have to scrub it in and make sure it soaks into the grout to get the seal. Then before it completely dries, you need to wipe off the excess with a damp rag. If you can't dedicate some time and energy to do this, then I wouldn't recommend trying.It's very labor intensive, detailed, and tedious work. I tried to hire people to help but after they found out what they would be doing, they declined! I ended up doing it all myself...a little at a time, a room at a time. I've done every room in the house. On the floor. On counter tops. On back spashes. In the bathroom. Just excellent. Can't argue with the results!

This product works, don't apply directly to the grout joint, place a small amount on a (paper plate) dip brush and apply to joint GET THE PROPER BRUSH

I might have to update this later, time will tell if this stuff sticks around. We have a chalk like substance between our very uneven kitchen tiles, who put that there....no one knows, but they stink. Since we are renting, the ol' tear it out and do it the right way will simply not do. I asked, they said no. So I bought this stuff, applied it and used a razor to skim the areas where it needed a little extra help keeping on the area where the grout should be. It made clean lines, really nice, however, it dried too fast in some areas and had to be put down again since it peeled up a little. Would love to see it work on grout that is not chalky, Im sure it's great. There is nothing like a nice clean grout line.

I recently bought a home built in 1974. I'm not sure when the tiles were put in the kitchen but based on the awful dark stains that can't be removed from the grout no.matter.what, I'm thinking theyve been there quite a while. That being said, I've tried a few methods of applying the paint and subsequent tile clean-up and have a few pointers for anyone doing a project similar to mine.If you are trying to cover very dark, stained, unsealed, old grout like mine, two coats will be necessary to get full coverage. That said, the water/scrub method of removing excess paint does not work well. In fact, keeping any moisture away from the paint makes things go a lot smoother. You will spend an ungodly amount of time scrubbing and developing early onset arthritis in your knees, back and neck. What works best for me is to apply one coat of paint over 6-8 tiles and as you go wipe the excess off the tile with a finger. I wore latex gloves and that seemed to help alleviate the mess and create a nice sharp line. I wore my paint pants so I could quickly wipe excess off my finger. Since the paint dries quickly, I found that by the time I was finished with the 6-8th tile, the grout I started with was dry enough for a second coat. For the second coat, I was much more careful to stay in the lines. This made things go quicker than the first coat.I found that when I followed the instructions by painting the grout, letting it dry 30-60 mins then misting with water and wiping excess, left me with more work than I started. The water pulled up some of the paint on the grout and made it necessary to basically go through the whole process from start to finish to fix the dark spots. My fingernail ended up being the most effective tool in scraping excess paint off tile among an arsenal of other crazy things I tried using. Once most of my finger nails were broken off, I knew I had to find a better way.Buy some knee pads and take frequent breaks to stretch, otherwise you'll be pretty sore if you have a larger project like me. It would also be helpful to give yourself 3-5 days to finish if possible. Made all the difference in keeping my sanity!I am a little concerned about the paint coming up when I clean the floors later on. So far, so good, though. 4 stars for now...UPDATE — it’s been 2 years since I painted over the grout. It looks awful and I am currently looking for yet another fix aside from putting in new flooring. I have a dog and cat whose nails have done quite a job chipping the paint up. It also comes up easily after swiffering over it. I wish I would have left it alone or gone with a dark color. Buyer beware if you’re using this is a high trafficked area or putting light over dark!!
