Hunter is the best performance fan (and whisper quiet)
Hunter is the best fan design and performance hands down. I got three for my unit. They are quiet and powerful to push the air in the room. This is a MIUST for the bedroom to get the air flowing. Also you can change the direction to help in the winter to draw the warm air down. (heat rises) so you will save all year. It costs more but the performance is worth it. that they last forever.

Lower ceiling install - impressed with the fan.
So far, I'm extremely impressed and I'm considering replacing all the fans in the house with similar models. To be clear, I ordered the Hunter 53240 Builder Elite 52-Inch Ceiling Fan with Five Snow White Blades, Snow White, Sold by Amazon.com LLC. I received exactly what was pictured - no more, no less. The fan cannot be "flush mounted" onto the ceiling. It needs to be installed with a down rod. Having a lower ceiling, I installed the fan with the smallest down rod that was provided. With that, the blades lay 11" from the ceiling (measured at the lowest part of the blade). During installation, which was not difficult at all, I was impressed by the quality of the materials. Electrical box screws are NOT provided, so I needed to go get a couple of those (standard 8-32 screws); however, wood screws are provided in case you need to attach the fan directly to the ceiling. Once installed, I had a very very slight wobble at the highest speed. I took out the included balancing kit, followed the instructions, and am happy to report that the fan is now extremely stable, and extremely quiet. If I have one not to positive thing to say, its that it has an annoying Hunter logo on the white fan motor (which you can see in the picture), and "Hunter Since 1886" embossed on the cover plate where other fans have a light kit. You can't help but get a Hunter advertisement if you look up at the fan. All that said, I'd definitely buy this again, and may buy more for other rooms.

This 52" is for medium to small rooms.
Installed ours in a living room and slightly moves the air. Next time we will go with 60" blades to improve air flow movement. Hunter is known for there quality motors and this unit it quiet.

The “Old Reliable” Hunter Fan
Looks great (shown here with a Hunter 48” down rod) and super quiet. Been buying Hunter fans for the past 30 years (and four houses), and I’ve never been disappointed.

Works like a charm
I replaced an old fan I had up and I could tell the difference in air flow immediately. Putting this up was a breeze. No pun intended. I was having a hard time finding a fan without lights and finally this fit the bill.

Good quality fan for the price.
Needed an indoor fan for our main room and initially went for the Hunter Bridgeport (indoor/outdoor). Spent hours methodically trying to balance this fan from a 48" downrod, sloping ceiling but despite good support from Hunter Customer Service and Amazon, I had to give up. Just refused to balance properly, with a couple of the blades at least 1/2in higher than the other 3.Returned it and bought this Builder Elite as a replacement and am very impressed. In many ways, I would say the Builder Elite is a better built fan despite being $20 cheaper. It did not balance straight out of the box but it was very close and just needed a slight tweak with a balancing kit to get it running smoothly and quietly.Only suggestion is to buy a better balancing kit than the one that came with the unit, which is not that accurate.Overall, very happy with this well built ceiling fan which I expect will give years of trouble-free service.

a classic
The media could not be loaded. I don't know what took me so long to install a ceiling fan. I am on the top floor of a 1930s building and I was using desk fans at the foot of the bed for years, figuring that was good enough.I had remembered Hunter fans from the time I was a kid in hot & humid cities, so I Googled them and found this classic. Hunter is a private company run out of Memphis where I am sure it gets hot.I was a little hesitant about the low price point, thinking it might be cheaply made, but no. It;s terrific and totally silent. I hired an electrician to put it in and we were done in a half hour. One of the best purchases I have ever made.
