I just received my camcorder. The lens seems loose ... or sort of rotates inside. Is this how it should be? I'm new to videoing.

Actually, it's better than normal. It's one of the reasons you should get this camera (although I returned it for a different reason)!! It's one of the best features of this camcorder that many camcorders do not have yet. It's called the BOSS system and it allows that lens point in the same INTENDED direction even though you are constantly shaking the camera. It's major optical stabilization. And, as you move to a different subject to record, the lens follows you. Not something easy to design. If you're curious why I am going to return the one I purchased, I just found out that it doesn't shoot in 4k when you are holding it and shooting. Can only do 4k when it's on a tripod. Otherwise, it's just HD. I was wondering why it was so cheap and now I know. The camcorders you can hold and shoot in 4k are pretty expensive. I hate to pay up so much for 4k to hold and shoot though but 4k makes a huge difference in my opinion. One seems like you're there. The other video seems like it's a recording or representation of life. I'm still debating what to do...

Which Panasonic 4k camcorder? They have several, but the best one is the 1500, it shoots 4k 60 for about 1600 bucks and kills this Sony camera.

can you put a mic on it?

Can the camera record while plugged into the wall so that i can record indefinitely? also does it have a recording limit like dslrs?

There is no 30 minute limit like some DLSR's. It will record when plugged into the wall until the memory is full. I would recommend using a remote because the touch screen is very sensitive and I inadvertently touched it and stopped recording, without realizing it, for a minute or two. Otherwise, I am very pleased.
