Once assembled, the product is acceptable. However, the instructions are not always complete or clear, so you must be patient and willing to experiment. Especially challenging is the installation of the hardware for the drawers - limited written instructions and very confusing illustrations.

I feel like most of the reviews here forget that this is a $200 piece of furniture. I have bought stuff from other companies that cost the same, took way longer to put together and once finished looked awful. The instructions were relatively easy to follow and the end result looks good and the drawers are easy to pull out and fit in fine. It did take me 2 hours to put it together, but drink a beer or two and it's not such a bad experience.

This is quite good for a low-cost, basic filing cabinet. It looks great, so I will be happy if it holds up. Assembly had a lot of steps, but it was easy thanks to clear illustrations and instructions.

UPDATE: Though I had to wait until Monday, the Bush support was friendly and helpful. They are sending me a new part and gave advice on how to fix the drawer. I am feeling better about my purchase. I have a tough time recommending this since the part was defective but I do think it will work out.I’m so sad. I spent hours putting this together. When I went to put the drawers in it was a disaster. The end came off the drawer track and all the ball bearings came out. The other drawer does not seem to fit correctly. It does not close all the wayI called support and they are not open. I can’t believe I spent so much money for this and it looks terrible. And no support on weekends.I’ll update after it is fixed. For now , I wouldn’t recommend.

While this is a beautiful piece of furniture, the hardware did not fit properly and the final piece is wobbly. Disappointed.

The company used cheap materials in this product. They used plastic parts where metal parts should of been used. The drawers are made from pressed wood. I will be surprised if they last more than 2 years. This is a filing cabinet that will hold heavy files when full. Pulling out the drawers and pushing them in with all those files will cause the drawers to fall apart. The holes in one of the drawers were drilled larger than they were supposed to be. I had to buy extra screws and washers because the provided ones would not work because of the larger holes. With parts not correctly drilled quality control must be poor.

This lateral file took approx 2 hours to put together. It looked fabulous and served one night as a nightstand/file cabinet in our guest bedroom doubling as an office. The next day the top drawer fell down into the bottom drawer with only had 14 hanging files in it. The customer service was excellent and offered to send a new top drawer, but we felt like it too would not hold up. Unit returned. Much better looking than useable!
