We purchased a fire pit and one of the starter kits were included. After setting up the fire pit and using the fire starter, we immediately got online and ordered a box of the starters. The starters get the fire started very quickly saving so much time and sanity for parents attempting to light a fire for their not so patient littles. The starters don't give off any smells or smoke and get the fire rolling very quickly. They take the stress out of starting the fire and enable you to enjoy the fire so quickly. We will be purchasing again.

This is all I need to start my fire. Lights fast, stays lit, ignites a fire.

These are smaller 1-lb versions of the 8-lb bags of wood pellets that Tiki sells for use in their fire pits. These smaller bags of pellets are intended to be used for conveniently lighting firewood and standard stove fuel pellets (which can be purchased for ~$6 for a bulk 40-lb bag at most local US hardware stores). Tiki bags of pellets contain enough accelerant to light quickly and burn safely and efficiently (similar to "Match-Light" charcoal briquettes). The bags are constructed of heavy paper and are lined with an impermeable film to keep the pellets fresh and dry, ready for lighting; the paper and film burn away along with the pellets after being lit. They should be handled and stored the same as any highly flammable substance and used as soon as possible (avoid long-term storage). For comparison, when burned in a Tiki fire pit, one of their convenient 8-lb bags of pellets makes a sizeable fire and burns nicely for 30+ minutes with minimal smoke and fuss.

I bought this late in the season so have only used one starter pack, but it was easy to use, burned clean and helped get my tree branch cuttings burning. I'm storing the rest inside to keep them fresh and dry for cooler weather.
