Q: With the mounting bracket 90 degrees to the caster, what is the dimension from the bracket to the outside of the caster?

If I understand the question, there will be no room if you rotate the square shaft 90 degrees. Caster bottom will be flush against the door or gate. You will need to add a pad or washer behind the bracket to create a standoff if needed. Hopefully that answers your question? Thanks!

The wheel assembly has a square shaft that can be indexed by removing the cotter pin and removing the mounting bracket and spring. Then position the wheel in the direction you want it in the bracket, install the spring and shaft into the bracket then the cotter pin. Your good to go.

Hi, the spring will compress up to about 42 lbs. This is a sweet spot to provide "springy-ness" for a gate, vs. a too stiff spring.
