Works quite well and easy to install.
After trying a much more expensive regulator that failed, this has turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Originally purchased to remedy ice maker problems caused by high pressure water supply that was splashing all over on the fill cycle, causing lots of things to freeze up. This cured the ice maker issues but it does take longer to fill a glass of water. A small price to pay for the benefit

Regulate your pressure and stop ruining your ice maker valves from too high of home water pressure.
Ordered on saturday, the thing showed up on sunday! I purchased this pressure regulator for my refrigerator ice maker/ water dispenser incoming water supply. I've never used the slip and lock type connectors before. I was a bit uneasy about their ability to seal properly, I called a friend who does home remodeling and he said he loves them. Well I cut my plastic lines with a razor and inserted the lines into the regulator and the seal is water tight. Super easy to install, took honestly less than 5 minutes. Now the reason I put this regulator on in the first place, is that my ice maker / water dispenser valve assembly ruptured or fractured to the point that water was leaking from the back of the refrigerator from the valve. I decided to check my home water pressure because these ice maker valves are only light plastic and they prefer to have around 45-60 psi of water pressure on them. Check with the recommended pressure from manufacturer. I found my home water pressure was around 120psi....that is what broke my ice maker valve assembly. The home water pressure is not recommended to exceed 75psi Max! I had my home pressure set on the high end for a better shower experience, but through the years the watts water pressure regulator decided to malfunction and allow full street or line pressure to get into my home network. With this high psi, its no wonder I've replaced my ice maker valve assy twice in the last few years. This inline regulator will keep my refrigerator line pressure at a perfect 45psi. Well worth the moneyspent, now I have a complete system for the refrig. I highly recommend using one for protecting your ice maker system, and be sure to check your home water pressure at your faucet or spigot outside, so you know if your water main pressure is regulated properly into your home, before you blow water lines and water heaters.!!!

works as advertised
waterline to the icemaker on my fridge kept springing leaks. Used this to cut the pressure from 70 to 40. Ice maker works ok and so far no more leaks.

Fixed My Issue
My LG refrigerator ice maker spilled water down one side of the freezer compartment and into the ice container since day one. After doing some research, I saw where you need a lower water pressure going into the refrigerator to eliminate this problem. My house is around 70lbs of water pressure normally, so this device is designed to reduce the pressure going into the water supply of the refrigerator to 40lbs. I ordered it one day and it came in the next. Easy install.....just cut the line with a straight blade, insert all way into each side of the device based on the flow diagram, and install the little blue clips. Obviously you will see a reduction in pressure on your cold water dispenser but it eliminates the ice fill problem. Would highly recommend this product if you have having a similar issue.

Finally, perfect ice cubes!!!!!
I have a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator (French doors, ice/water dispenser) and I have ALWAYS had issues with the ice cubes jamming up and not dispensing properly. This inexpensive device has finally fixed my issue. I've known since the first day I got my refrigerator that I've had high water pressure, and I've put up with the ice cubes coming out as one massive lump, and just letting the auger to break up the cubes. But there were days that no ice cubes would come out. I would have to remove the ice bin and try to break up the cubes and even then, it wouldn't be consistent. Also, the water being dispensed would be a "splash fest". Again, very annoying. I tried the 70 psi version first (the refrigerator manual stated that it needs to be 30-100 psi) and that helped. But still had issues with ice cubes and being sprayed with the water dispenser. Since these are so inexpensive, I just ordered the 40 psi version. HUGE difference! Now everything is perfect. I tried to find something similar at local hardware stores and even appliance parts suppliers. They either didn't have anything similar or were outrageously expensive or for the entire home (also expensive and difficult to install). This was an easy and inexpensive fix, that has been well worth it.

Three years, no problems
Three years, no problems. Very small, fits anywhere you need it. Pay attention to the maximum pressure rating on your water / RO unit or you'll kill it in no time.

Flow dropped after use
Installed to lower pressure to icemaker. Worked great at first but after a couple weeks the flow droped so much the trays wouldn't fill to one half full. Removed from line. Water goes through a carbon filter prior to regulator.

Fix splashing from fridge water dispenser
Should have bought this years ago. We have inconsistent water pressure and often the water dispenser on the fridge would spray hard enough to launch it out of the cup and all over your hand. This 40 psi regulator is perfect to stop that while still dispensing water at a decent rate.

Hoped to use it to check out another same brand valve that was not working as I expected on my RO system. It shuts off water flow with pressures less than advertised and will not open up again until the RO tank is completely empty. Very low flow rate out of faucet.

The pressure regulator worked only for a day and completely cut the water flow. Even when it was working it just acted as a flow restrictor and the pressure on its output side was the same as input side. Not happy with this product. I hope I can send it back for a refund.
