Mirro 92508 Pressure Cooker Gasket for Model 92180 and 92180A, 8-Quart, White

The sale picture is not doing this justice. It was brand new and fit like a glove. Been working good for me since I bought it.

I bought an older (although still new) Wear-Ever (Mirro) pressure cooker at a yard sale for $10 and was excited to use it. Initially I could get it to pressure up after a couple minutes of steam leaking out. Having never had a pressure cooker before I thought this was normal. Then I couldn't get it to pressure up at all. I contacted Mirro and after I told them the model no. they told me the exact right gasket to get. The item came quickly and I was thrilled. At first I thought the gasket was a little too large as it *almost* puckered when installed. It was only then that I realized even though my old gasket was soft and pliable it had shrunk considerably. What a difference!!! The cooker got up to pressure in no-time-flat and was so easy to maintain at pressure. I wish I had done this months ago!!!Can't explain the negative feedback on this product, I very happy with it. Only suggestion is to contact the manufacturer of your PC and get the exact part no. of your replacement gasket before ordering.

Had bought two other gaskets before from other sellers, that did not work. Was almost giving up on using my pressure cooker until I decided to try this last one. This has been working for a year now with no problems. Still think it's over priced for a little round thing of rubber, but not compared to other sellers.

Used it! Worked perfectly! Had to exercise care fitting the seal to the lid. It worked well. It was easy to take the lid off after cooling the cooker (always took awhile with the original gasket). The narrower outer diameter design - I think Is what facilitated this. Happy with these purchase.

Ordered this with a few misgivings since the reviews seemed to be evenly divided between "it worked perfectly" and "it did not work at all". It looked like the old one and fit the cooker. At first use it leaked a little and seemed to be loose, but after more uses the leaking seems to have subsided. The cooker it was used on held pressure while cooking meats and hopefully the gasket will continue to keep the seal.

I wish I had gotten a new one a long time ago; this new one fits so much better and thus seals so much faster. It is terrific!You know, after writing that stunning review I've had 3 bad experiences; this new gasket is thinner than the original 1970's gasket, and 3 times it's rolled over when the lid is "screwed-on" and the pressure has forced it's way out the side of the lid, rather than out the top hole, which is scary and could be dangerous. I know the gasket is placed correctly and the lid is on correctly and the pressure hole is open; so it's just an unfortunate thing that this gasket does not fit and now I'm afraid of my pressure cooker with this gasket ...
