Product Description Beavis & Butt-Head: two easily amused, suburban misfits sorely lacking in motivation, depth, and, of course, girlfriends. Each day they can be found amusing themselves with activities such as watching bad TV shows, going on a rampage at the local mall with a neighbor's credit card, working at the local "Burger World," and attending enriching events such as the "All-Star Monster Tractor Trash-a-thon." Direction: Mike Judge Actors: Mike Judge, Tracy Grandstaff, Box Set. Language: English. .com Beavis is the one in the Metallica T-shirt. Butt-Head is the one in the AC/DC T-shirt. Hobbies include nose picking, head banging, and breaking stuff. Needless to say, they are very, very stupid. When not attending Highland High, (hardly) working at Burger World, or watching the boob (huh-huh) tube, they're harassing Mr. Anderson, who's often hiring them for some job or another. Emmy-winning creator Mike Judge (Office Space), who voices the characters, hand-picked the 40 shorts in this collection, including 23 director's cut editions. Throughout the shorts, which were created for MTV, Beavis and Butt-Head do their worst. Stunts they pull on the dim-bulb Anderson, a prototype for King of the Hill's Hank Hill, include: Riding off with his mower ("Home Improvement"), chopping down his tree ("Lawn and Garden"), throwing his poodle in the washer ("Washing the Dog"), and destroying his golf clubs ("Pool Toys"). Fate has a funny way of catching up with the cretins, however, as when Beavis gets bit by a rabid dog ("Rabies Scare") and goes to hell ("The Final Judgement of Beavis") or when Butt-Head chokes on a piece of chicken ("Choke") and gets his mouth wired shut ("Patients, Patients"). Other characters include buddy Stewart, bully Todd, pinhead Principal McVicker, teachers Buzzcut and Van Driessen, and the Great Cornholio (Beavis's demonic alter-ego). Guest voices include David Spade ("Manners Suck"), David Letterman ("Late Night With Butt-Head"), and Gilbert Gottfried ("Right On"). As astute fans are sure to notice, this set omits the word "complete" from the title as Judge chose not to include those shorts he considers "really, really awful and embarrassing" (mostly those in which B&B set things on fire). Plus, there's more to come from seasons five through seven and the mini-documentary Taint of Greatness makes for a nice addition. --Kathleen C. Disapointed
After reading of the episodes on this DVD release,I am flatly disapointed. These are mainly episodes contained in the 6 DVD Time/Life series and the recalled "History of Beavis and Butthead" DVD that lived a short life.Even the Kurt Loder/Thanksgiving piece was on the "History" DVD.The "History" DVD has more of the early episodes as well (even though I dont like the rough animation and "amateur" voice of Beavis in the first couple seasons episodes). If you have the TIME/LIFE collection,and/or the rare "History" DVD,this will all be re-hash for you.Shame its going down this way,but I suppose its all to do with money.MTV wants to make a fortune, and so does Mr Judge,on old re hash of re hash.Sorry to say, like Beavis would put it....."This Sucks....change it".

5 Stars for My Bunghole
A series that is so stupid it’s funny. You literally just can’t help but to laugh. I purchased this as a Christmas present for my brother who loves to find the most absurd quotes and repeat them at inappropriate times. Price was fair and the package came damage free.

Classic Animation Comedy
Beavis and Butthead will probably stand as one of the classic high-points of animation comedy. Everyone likes to think of The Simpsons as the cartoon that pushed the envelope, but I think Beavis and Butthead will be the one that many animators cite for having the greatest effect on them (Adult Swim anyone). That said, Beavis and Butthead, Vol. 1 - The Mike Judge Collection is great way to relive those classic Beavis and Butthead moments and to understand why the show was such a monumental piece of TV. Each segment is rewatchable, and never seems to get old at all, and you get so many that will take many viewings to watch them all, anyway. In many ways, I wish the Adult Swim people would take note of this instead of rushing out all the volumes of their shows. Moreover there are not a lot of extras to take away from the experience. There is only one creation documentary, so you can bet most of the money you spend goes to actual episodes, and not to superfluous "extras."However, I was very disappointed to learn that there are only eleven video commentaries in the entire package. This, I thought, was one of the funniest things about the entire cartoon. I greatly miss them ripping up truly bad videos, and I wish Mike Judge chooses to add more of them next time, along with the option to view them in context of the cartoons.All-in-all, this is definitely a great box-set, and one you will enjoy greatly.

First off for those who complained that the music video's aren't there with groups like Poison.
Ya know some people just need to get a life... First off for those who complained that the music video's aren't there with groups like Poison... They are there... They're on 3-3... And for those who whine about a few lines missing here and there... Seriously if you study this kind of material that much that you can actually be mad about a few lines missing... It's time for you to get out of Mom and Dad's basement and get a friggen' life!!!

Huh huh... uhhh... hey Beavis, this DVD RULES!
It is true that the amusing music video segments are missing from this dvd, but this is the only true Beavis and Butthead episode dvd that has been released. It has several good episodes, and is a nice addition to the collection for nostalgic purposes. One thing I find particularly annoying regarding this dvd, however, is that it is difficult to navigate and find the menu option. That is, if there is a menu option at all. Similar issues abound with the Christmas dvd. By and large, however, this is Beavis and Butthead, and probably the last true example we'll get on dvd. :( Perhaps if the sales of this DVD pick up, the MTV empire will release the locks on the gates holding back more B&B dvds from being released.
