We have always used these guide books as a source of information prior to travelling. Review: Perfect - I am so glad that the new editions include information about local language programs. It is a feature I've been wishing LP include for a while now. This book is fantastic and includes all the major cities. The one-stop resource for my upcoming trip.

Solid guide book
I bought this book for my trip to Marrakech and Essaouira, so my comments will focus on those 2 cities. Generally, I really liked the flow of the book and the contents. I compared it to several other Morocco guidebooks at Barnes and Noble before buying this one on Amazon. The lonely planet guide had some bits of history in the sections for the cities, just enough to provide context for many of the sites that we went to see. I didn't feel like I was being dragged down by the historical aspects of the book when trying to find things to do. There was a very nice sections at the end of the book about the different food specialties you could see around the country. There were several other sections at the back of the book with broad areas of focus that were very useful. Plenty of tips of mailing things home, transportation, tipping, etc. The Marrakech section of the book was quite good. I stuck with 1 dollar sign restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed each of the restaurant recommendations from the book. I saw most of the recommended sights and they were all very impressive. The pullout map was very useful as well. Once you find out where you are you can navigate fairly well. I had some difficulties navigating, but that is no fault of the map. Rather, it is because the medina in Marrakech is very confusing and there are few street labels. One issue I found in Marrakech was that some of the restaurant recommendations did not seem to be where they were indicated (specifically Marrakech Korner), possibly closed. This was despite the fact that I had the most recent edition of the book. The recommendations for Essaouira were good as well. A local woman, with whom we were staying, recommended a number of activities and restaurants for us. All of her recommendations were actually in the Lonely Planet book already and they were all excellent. Again, there was a shop that we were excited about visiting, which no longer existed, but there were no other issues. Overall, I thought this book was excellent for my trip to Morocco and I would recommend it to anyone traveling there.

Good guidebook
I just came back from the trip to Morocco. The guidebook covers all basics and recommendations for restaurants are great - had to use them a few times. As for lodging - places that are listed now have higher prices, so plan to research more to get better deal.

Avoid Kindle Edition
This is the first LP Kindle edition I've bought, and I won't be doing so again. It is extremely hard to navigate - the table of contents is not intuitive enough or detailed enough. As an example, there is no table of contents where you can see the list of the regions (much less the cities within them) and navigate directly to them. It's also full of formatting problems - blank pages, photos that take up 1/3 of the available space on the page... the worst are the maps. The map of the country is about 1/2 the size of an iPad screen and at a resolution where you cannot zoom in effectively. Other maps throughout the book are presented so small it's impossible to see them or zoomed in but cut into four squares spread out over four pages. Makes no sense. Finally, the formatting - font, heading, section set up - is extremely basic, making it hard to skim and find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, skimming through the pages is the only way because the table of contents navigation is so weak. There aren't even headers at the top of the page to tell you which section you are in! You have to page back until you find a section header. I'm really disappointed. Buy the PDF version of the book from Lonely Planet and read it on your Kindle or IPad. It won't be perfect, but it will be MUCH easier.

Not very detailed
I purchased the ebook version of this lonely planet book for my kindle. I have used lonely planet guides in the past and loved them, however, I found this one really lacking. It didn't have any hostel suggestions, the walking tours where hard to follow and the descriptions of the sites did not include much history. It does have a lot of suggestions for people with kids (which wasn't what I was looking for but maybe you are). This guide is helpful for the basics but could be a lot better.

excellent as usual
great to be able to have an e-reader version, and that the version has been updated to 2012. I used the kindle version on my android samsung galaxy Note 2 and it works very well. makes it very easy to travel with as the hard copy is always so heavy!

Excellent
Had the Rough Guide, this is much better. Has itineraries and some very useful summaries of the history of the country in the back of the book.
