Good gauge

This is a good high-quality gauge. Before I installed it I tested it by putting the probe in some boiling water – it was very accurate. The length of the tubing was perfect for my needs on an old Toyota truck whose stock temp gauge quit working and could not be repaired without pulling apart the dash. I was very careful not to damage the tubing during the install and it works great. The gauge is very easy to read at a distance.

*Update: failed after about 10 months. Needle on the gauge doesn't even move off cold anymore. Tried dunking the probe in boiling water and still nothing. Docking rating to 1 stars. I had hoped a non-electrical gauge would be more reliable, now I have to disassemble the whole dash to remove the old gauge instead of just replacing a sensor. Original review: I just installed this gauge and am very happy with it. It wasn't obvious from the product description how all the pieces fit together (especially how the probe is secured in the fitting) so I attached several photos to this review. The probe length was long enough for my application and was simple to install, and being a mechanical sensor I didn't have to run any wiring and I can even see coolant temperature after I shut off the engine (good for diagnosing cooling issues). I don't care for the green backlight color (see photo, shown with 9V power supply), and my dash has it's own white-light illumination which sufficiently lights the gauge, so I ended up just removing the backlight bulb assembly altogether (see photos for how it is attached) which meant I didn't have to wire anything at all for this install. Time will tell but so far it's been working great and gives accurate readings (I have a 195 degF thermostat and that corresponds well with the gauge readings during warmup). I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't currently have a temp gauge on their car. Also note that the smallest probe adapter fitting in this kit is 1/4 NPT which didn't fit the aluminum radiator hose adapter I bought (ASIN B08BL1QJD1) which had a 1/8 NPT female thread. I'm not sure you can even buy those adapters with a 1/4" NPT hole size. I ended up having to buy a 1/4 NPT pipe tap and drill out and re-thread the radiator hose adapter which was a big pain. So I docked this kit 1 star for not using the standard 1/8 NPT size for the probe fitting.

Worked good as advertised

installed in my old golf field mower tractor, as original gauge had failed. Fittings were good for installing in the 4 cylinder flathead and the 2 " hole was perfect for gauge. Worked on start up, as designed. Perfect replacement.

Quality is very good but when my car overheated it get broke and it becomes not accurate.

I installed it on my snowmobile with one of the adapters that came with. If I remember correctly it took a while to figure out how to install it correctly cuz I had the wrong threads at first but then I figured it out.

Lo compre por ser muy parecido al modelo de un VDO original , después de instalarlo funciono bien unos días después de una semana de trabajo la medición fue fallando gradualmente al grado de tener un margen de 10 grados de error y no ser muy segura su medición y lo tuve que remplazar por otra marca , tal ves alguno de toda la producción tuvo un error y por suerte al comprarlo me tocó , talves no todos salgan defectuosos
