From start to finish, it took me maybe 20 minutes - and I'm not particularly tech-savvy! The Bluetooth pairing happened instantly, and connecting to my WiFi was seamless.Works flawlessly with my older opener:I have a 2015 LiftMaster, and despite some compatibility concerns I read about, this worked perfectly right out of the box. The hub connected to my opener in about 30 seconds, and the door sensor was easy to mount.The peace of mind is incredible:No more lying in bed wondering "Did I close the garage?" or driving halfway to work and turning around to check. I get real-time notifications when the door opens or closes, and I can check the status anytime from anywhere. This feature alone makes it worth every penny.Remote control is fantastic:Being able to open the garage for deliveries, let in service people, or close it when I'm already upstairs is so convenient. The app is responsive and reliable - I've never had it fail to work when I needed it.Amazon Key integration is a bonus:I was skeptical about in-garage delivery, but it's actually great for expensive packages. Amazon delivers right into my garage and sends me a photo confirmation. Feels much safer than leaving packages on the porch.Family sharing works perfectly:Added my spouse and kids to the app easily. The installation was very simple and straightforward; as I have an 'off-brand' garage door motor, I selected the 'Other' option when asked. During setup, it had me hit the 'learn' button twice, then voila, it opened my garage door.The mounting of the wifi transceiver was a breeze (2 screws included into wooden shelving unit).Very simple App - Open Garage Door or Close Garage Door. Extremely easy to use! I added a Siri Accessibility command, so when approaching the Garage, I can just say 'Activate Garage Door' to my iPhone and the door opens!There is a feature to integrate the Garage into Amazon Prime Garage Delivery, and I did set that up, but not sure I'll use it much (unless I'm having a high value item delivered)!

Our garage opener supposedly has wifi connection built in but by the time I tried to connect it, Chamberlain had retired that version so it doesn't work directly. Got this to see if it would work and it's awesome. Easy to install, easy to connect to the opener and to wifi. You need the MyQ app (yeah, ANOTHER app you have to have) but it's actually extremely reliable. I have an iPhone and have had no issues with connectivity or responsiveness with this device.I like it because I get notifications on my phone when the garage opens or closes for when I'm not home and I can monitor the family comings and goings to make sure the house is secure. I can also remotely open or close the garage from anywhere - whether I'm at home or away. I especially like that feature so that if I need to open the house for anyone or if we forgot to close the garage I can operate the door from wherever I am. It also gives me the status of the door (open or closed) at any time.Highly recommend as an actual "smart" and useful smart device.

This was a tough one to rate. On the functionality side, it’s basically perfect. Installation was a breeze—some of the clearest step-by-step instructions I’ve ever seen. It synced with my Overhead Door opener without much hassle (just a little patience). The app is clean and simple: shows if the garage is open or closed, how long it’s been that way, and lets you control it from anywhere you’ve got signal. Major win.And unlike those unreliable magnet sensors that work about 25% of the time, this setup uses a clever physical device on the door itself. When the door’s open, it lies flat—horizontal. When closed, it stands vertical. Simple. Effective. Accurate. So far, so good.Now the bad news—and the reason I’m docking a star: MyQ removed Alexa support. Not just the ability to open/close it via Alexa, but even just checking the door's status. Seriously? At minimum, I should be able to ask if my garage is open. Instead, I’m stuck opening the app like it’s 2014.So yes, it does exactly what it’s supposed to—and does it well. But pulling Alexa support for “security” while other companies manage to make it work safely feels like a step backward.MyQ, if you’re listening: Let Alexa at least see the door status. We’ll handle the opening/closing from the app like good little rule-followers.
