The definitive live CD fro mthe 1996 Double Trio, a vertiable Symphony of Noise. The first CD, live in Mexico City, features the muscular new material from the period, while the second CD, lvie on Broadway, NYC, revisits much of the repertoire of the 1981-84 Crimson. A must have record for all King Crimson fans. Includes 20 pages of photos and band diaries.

Excellent CD from the Prog Rock masters
Great CD. I am a long-time Crimson fan. Excellent musicianship -- as always with King Crimson. Vroom has its instrumental similarities to the song, "Red;" but Vroom is more progressive and upbeat. The rest of the CD has some great songs, as well.

One of the best live albums ever recorder
One of the best live albums ever recorder. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I DO think it's good. The fact is..No matter how closely I study it. No matter how I take it apart. No matter how I break it down. It remains consistent...I WISH YOU WERE HERE TO SEE IT!!!!!

Great Live Album
This is certainly an excellent live recording. It is even better than the shows captured on "Eyes Wide Open". Recommended!

`Vrooom Vroom' goes the double trio, in these epic concerts from the mid-90s
`Vrooom Vrooom' is a 2-CD release of live-on-stage performances by KC's epic `double-trio' (the line-up that cut the studio album `Thrak') recorded in NYC and in Mexico City during 1995-96.This short-lived six-piece was KC on steroids, delivering up a huge wall of sound underpinned by the booming percussive power of Bruford and Mastelotto over which the other four musicians weave complex musical landscapes unlike any other incarnation of this perennially rejuvenating band. The music has such power it can pin you to the wall, yet be at times seductive and melodious too.The first disk is heavy on percussive numbers, especially `B'Boom', `Thrak' and `Prism' and contains some powerful renditions of the 1970s band classics `The Talking Drum', `Larks Tongues 2' and `Red'. The second disk is more varied dynamically and dominated by the 1980s material such as `Thela Hun Ginjeet', `Frame by Frame', `People' `Elephant Talk', `3 of a Perfect Pair'.The band also delivers a pretty impressive `21st Century Schizoid Man' with Adrian Belew's vocals endowing the classic number with a snarling, menacing tone.Overall this is one of the best recordings of any KC line-up performing onstage, and ought to be in any collection.

GREAT!
King Crimson has been releasing live material through their Discipline Global Mobile label for quite some time now. The latest (and if you're a fan of the double-trio lineup, the best) release is VROOOM VROOOM, a compilation of shows recorded live in Mexico City, Los Angeles and New York. My only complaints are that the running order on the CDs doesn't coincide with the order of the songs in the actual concerts, and "B'Boom" and "THRAK" appear twice (once on each CD). Aside from that, this is one hell of an album.Starting with a blistering version of the title track, the intensity continues through "Coda: Marine 475" and into "Dinosaur." Although the quiet midsection on the latter is missing, it's still a great performance. A lot of disc one is drum/percussion based. "B'Boom" and "Prism" are basically drum improvs. While they're far from boring, they would be more enjoyable in the actual context of the shows, instead of having so many drum-based songs on one disc."The Talking Drum" and "Larks Tongue in Aspic (Part II)" were always concert highlights, and they don't disappoint here. The thing that's sure to grab the attention of the fans on disc one is the killer version of "21st Century Schizoid Man" (which they normally don't play). Coming out of the quiet "Biker Babes of the Rio Grande" improv, the audience erupts with applause as soon as the song starts. Adrian Belew's vocals seem a bit odd on the song, but the awesome display of musicianship more than makes up for any vocal shortcomings.Disc Two begins with the drum improv, "Conundrum," followed by the 1982 classic "Thela Hun Ginjeet." Recently covered by Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade, this classic from the Discipline album is well played and features the original conversations in the background. "People" shows the listener exactly what this band is all about. The interplay between the six musicians on this particular song is nothing short of breathtaking. "One Time" and "Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream" are both great, and this particular version of "Indiscipline" might just be the best ever. After a great "Elephant Talk" and "Three of a Perfect Pair," "B'Boom" and "THRAK" are back. Granted, they're not bad performances, but there were other songs played during these shows (like "Matte Kudesai") that don't appear here. Disc Two also includes the rarity "Free as a Bird"--previously only available on a Japanese import or via a membership in the KCCC (King Crimson Collectors Club)--although the intro is missing here. Instead, it just starts from the end of the improv at the end of "THRAK." Rounding out this collection is one of the band's most beautiful ballads, "Walking on Air." The stereo effects on the sound are particularly noteworthy. Some people have expressed displeasure (Fripp included) about the double trio being little more than a `greatest hits' outfit. While this may be a true statement, it's also true that the live renditions of these `hits' are far superior to their studio predecessors. The band improvised freely onstage during these tours (something the 80's lineup seldom did), taking musical risks at every possible opportunity. VROOOM VROOOM is an excellent representation of what the double trio was capable of onstage (even if the songs aren't in the proper order). Recommended for Crimheads and newbies alike.

Powerful live Crimson!
Recorded at two concerts in the mid 90's, this was a very powerful and loud version of King Crimson. Both discs have excellent sound quality. A must buy for all King Crimson fans!

A Thrack (1985).

Soldi molto ben spesi...

Fantastic live set from the Crim team !
VROOOM VROOOM live , Great sound, Great lineup, Great live show ! Fripp walked out on the crowd in Toronto November 19th/2015, because a fan broke his rule and took his picture. Everyone present was robbed of a complete show and possibly the only time in their lives to hear 20th Century Schizoid Man live by the band. I was there and thought I would never forgive him. Had to forgive him to buy this CD. King Crimson is bigger than Fripp. Fripp can be a knob and be difficult, but you can not deny the man's talent. Get this CD in your collection folks.By the way, the "Live in Toronto" available on CD or vinyl , recorded November 20th / 2015 is an absolute must for all fans. Unlike the show I saw the night before on the 19th, the Frippster hung in for the entire show and the lucky fans that were present, enjoyed the encore of 21st Century Schizoid Man.Anyway K.C. fans, get your tickets for their 50th Anniversary tour/2019. A September evening on the shores of Lake Ontario sounds just about right...Merle over and out...

Great album
I Heard King Crimson was better live than on the studio albums. This CD was like a revelation to me. It's probably the best way to hear what the double trio was all about.

Es King Crimsom en vivo, luego...
Grandes, enormes. Monstruos.
