They work well
You can use these to join both KMC and Shimano chains. They can be a little hard to install without a tool, but they're reusable and easier to work with once they're broken in.

A MUST if Using a KMC Chain!
I found none of my links worked with my KMC chain, even though I had three different versions that all stated they were for 7/8 speed chains. They were all not wide enough. I spent hours trying to get them to fit and only once was I successful, but the chain was pretty tight at the link. These fit beautifully and click in place with a slight tug. Pricier than the others, but not by much and a lot better quality. Buy these and you won't be sorry.

Good value, handy, be sure to get correct size
Works well but be sure to get the correct size. The Missing Link II is for 7.1mm pin length chains and binds a bit with 7.3mm pin length chains. KMC doesn't always make clear which chains have which pin length, so check the boxes carefully. Also seems to work fine with my Shimano HG50 chain. Also, some of KMC's better chains come with the appropriate Missing Link in the box. These are often a better value than the lower priced chains with flat sided link plates and buying the ML separately. The Missing Links are easy to attach. After slipping the pins through the chain ends, align the pin ends with the chamfered offset openings. Rotate the chain around on the bike until the Missing Link is on the top side of the chain. Place some pressure on the pedal and the Missing Link will close. To open, the KMC tool isn't absolutely necessary. Tools can be improvised by slipping a couple of small screwdriver shanks through the links and pressing them together. It's fiddly but can be done.

Work well. Strong hold.
Clip in place really well can be reused, but I’d personally hesitate to use them more than twice. Noticeably easier to connect/disconnect after each clamping. A little tough to align the first time, but some minor finagling and they click in place.

Reliable link
I found a great deal on chains. When I got them I realized why no quick link included! No worries I ordered these and problem solved. I have also used these to replace quick links included with sram chains. Sometimes those Sram links for wahtever reason are hard if not impossible to use. These KMC links? Always reliable easy to use. As I rehab bikes intend to keep a couple of these around

A Must-have for KMC Chains
My local bike shop turned me on to KMC chains and Missing Link II and I am glad they did. I have always carried a little bit of wire in case I snapped a chain but Missing Links give me a way to fix my chain on the trail with the knowledge that the repaired chain is as good as ever. Some of the master links I have used in the past were really hard to work with and didn't seem very robust or dependable. The KMC product is simple to install without tools most of the time. They are a bit hard to unhook, but do you really want them to come off easily? If you ride a lot on really backwoods trails alone, like I do, the KMC chain/link combo are the way to go. When you are 20 miles from the car with no one else around, the last thing you want is to have to carry that bike back. Even if you have your cell with you, do you know anyone who will ride out to you with a new chain?

I found the missing link...
I normally use KMC chains, so of course the KMC master links and chains function perfectly together. If you keep the Park Tool MLP-1 Master Link Pliers handy, removing them is a breeze. They are simple and convenient, strong and reliable, and perform flawlessly. It's nice that they come individually wrapped on a paper backing. This let me throw a couple in my pack, a couple in my toolbox, and a couple in my truck without worrying about losing them. From what I understand they can be used a handful of times (3 according to KMC?) before being replaced.Even if you currently don't use a chain with a master link, keep a couple in your pack. If you break a chain on the trail and have your multitool it can save the day. Maybe even gain some Karma points by helping someone else with it on the trail... either way you can't go wrong.
