Great card, fast speed, brackets fit properly for small slots in pc. This card was great for adding usb3 to an older Digital Audio Workstation build. Card comes with everything you need to get setup, except the cable for adding ports to the front of your computer, you can either use your existing one and plug it into the card, or buy one.The only (minor) issue was when it came for the driver installation, there are 2 versions of the card drivers on the mini cd-rom. I wasn't sure which card I had. It wasn't described in the .pdf manual either. I pulled the card and checked the printing on the card and it wasn't clear either. I finally went back to amazon and looked at my order to see that I had the "Gen 1" version.Now I could install the correct drivers and it worked perfectly. so a sticker on the box or on the board would save some time, but its not a real big deal and I marked the box so If I pull this card to use in another computer in the future, I'll know which driver it needs.Card worked greate. I copied 1/2 tb over a usb3 hub and it took 8 hours. I copied that same 1/2 tb directly over the usb3 ports on this card, and it took 3 hours. so great speed and reliability.Great price, great card..

This is the 2nd USB 3.0 card I tried in my 13 year old computer having only USB 2.0 ports front and back, as the 1st card I tried was unpowered and wasn't providing enough 'juice' to operate all my portable HDDs. For this card I used a spare SATA power connector which gives it the kick I need to run all of my various portable hard drive units with no problem. I also had to purchase a ribbon PCI-E cable extension in order to allow the use of this card as I have a large GPU card which sits right over the top of my PCI-E X1 slot. Luckily, Amazon sells those as well for under $10 so I pulled the graphics card, installed the new ribbon cable with 90 degree connectors on each end to get around the graphics card and connect up the new USB 3.0 card. After getting my old eMachines ET-1831-07 all back together, I installed the Beyimei driver CD, (as I'm running Windows 7), and it loaded very easily and I was ready to go. Does it work?? You Bet! Wow, what a vast improvement over the 1st unpowered USB 3.0 card I tried - this card will power up any and all my various external drives without a hiccup. Why didn't I install this Beyimei card in the first place?? IF you're planning to upgrade an old USB 2.0 PC to USB 3.0 and you're going to be running old external HDDs, my advice is to install THIS card as it works Great with older systems and has plenty of power for whatever needs you have and it's a complete kit for less $$ than the unpowered USB 3.0 card. And now I'm installing a PNY SSD and will just use my old WD Black HDD for backup ~ my old eMachines ought to Love That!

Used with a retro Dell XP motherboard (Core Duo) so I could use the USB 3 on the front of the new case. It seemed to be pretty much plug and play. No additional drivers needed apparently for my install.

I installed this into my new PC and the front panel USB ports would only give power but no data transfer. After many hours of troubleshooting, I resorted to emailing the vendor (which I found at beyimei.com) because the product was not listed on their website. They emailed me the correct drivers and now the card is working, despite the listing saying Windows 11 does not need drivers. 1 star deduction for the hassle. Save yourself some time and get the drivers ahead of time while you wait for your order to arrive.

This adapter card works perfect. I did a custom build, and screwed up the pins on the motherboard for the case front panel connecter for the USBs. The pins on this are much more solid, and I had no trouble connecting the cable to it. Plugged into a PCIEX1 slot on the motherboard, booted up, and it worked right away, no drivers needed! Five stars. Would buy again

I installed this into my computer I built myself. I needed a USB-A with a dedicated power source for a periphery I am using (VR headset). I have been building computers as a hobby for 30 years since the early 90s and am familiar with troubleshooting and installing both hardware and software such as drivers.That being said, this should've been an easy pop-in, install drivers if Windows didn't natively support (which is rare), and go. Well. That isn't how it went. After I put it in (and yes, I plugged in the SATA power) I noticed my screen flickered on startup but was fine after windows booted. Minor hiccup, right? Wrong. My sounds weren't playing through my monitor (how I have it setup). I went to troubleshoot / swap the setting back to my monitor and the option was grayed out and Windows was claiming I wasn't running a legitimate copy of Windows. ... okay? ... that has never happened outside of installing, re-installing, restoring, etc... the operating system. I keep my windows key stuck to my case so I took a picture and plugged in the numbers and that problem was fixed. I then attempted to use my periphery and it did not work. I then tried plugging something else (a thumb drive) into it and it did not work. I plugged my phone into the USB-C slot and I got power to my phone but the computer didn't register anything new plugged in. I checked device manager and nothing was showing up with that yellow caution indicator. I downloaded and installed the drivers (because: come on, who the heck still has CD players attached to their computers in this day and age?). The drivers said they installed correctly but the device still didn't work. This is where the main trouble began. I restarted my computer to open BIOS and the screen would flicker on for 1/2 a second and have an inconsistent black-screen for 5-20 seconds before it flickered again... making troubleshooting BIOS impossible. I restarted my computer and the screen worked fine once Windows was loaded. I got the BIOS update, put it on my thumb drive (using a mother-board supported USB, not this device) and adjusted my monitor settings so the screen stopped flickering and updated my BIOS. After all this I tried using the device and I was getting an "unknown device" error and installing drivers did nothing. I had enough. I shut down my computer, took this piece of hack-ware out of my system, uninstalled the drivers, and will be returning it soon. My computer runs smooth as a whistle again. Whatever this thing is, it is not a USB-C and USB-A PCIE x4 card. It is a piece of hacker hardware meant to wreck your computer. It caused severe issues to both my BIOS and my operating system.I run Windows 11 on a ASUS 42-pased PC, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D on a PRIME X670-P WIFI with a UEFI BIOS, 64GB of T-Force 5600 MHz RAM, with a Predator SSD GM7000 4TBI have used Kaspersky Antivirus up until the USA banned it for no good reason and I haven't gotten a Virus the entire time I used Kaspersky... but installing this hardware reminded me of the bad-old days when I used McAfee Antivirus and got a Rootkit malware installed into my computer that McAfee was unable to quarantine or clean and I had to do a hard-drive format and swapped to Kaspersky that same day. This hardware absolutely made my computer go nuts.This piece of hardware is bad news. I do not recommend installing it. I am immediately returning it for a refund and getting one from a more reputable parts vendor. I wish I had taken videos to show all the issues it caused but in the moment I was too confounded by what the heck was going on, I didn't think to document it.I will never buy cheaply made garbage to put in my higher end PC ever again. Lesson learned.
