A Cutting Edge Product from Browning
A cutting edge product from Browning!Browning is a company that is known for quality and innovation. Their firearms are some of the most advanced, and best engineered products of their kind on the market. Anyone who is familiar with Browning will remember the revolutionary BOSS (ballistic optimizing shooting system) device that allowed their factory rifles to shoot as accurately as more expensive, highly tuned custom rifles. Two decades later, they introduced the Cynergy, a truly revolutionary over-under shotgun. Browning is a company that is continually engaged in research and development to ensure that their products represent the best that modern materials technology and advanced manufacturing practices can deliver. Unlike other firearms maker that simply take an age-old design and simply tweak and tune it, and then re-brand it, Browning innovates. While some are content to stick with tradition, Browning engages and invests in research and development. Their products, from their knives to their firearms, always represent the cutting edge. This folding knife from Browning is very, very reasonably priced. It is of very good quality and of very good design for the purchase price. You can easily spend much more and get much less than this Browning. The fit and finish are both very good. The materials used are attractive and feel good to the touch. In other words, this is an expensive looking knife. It is built like a more expensive knife. However, please keep in mind that it is not up to the level of a pricey custom made knife, in terms of fit, finish, and blade quality. However, you can buy more than a few of these for the price of one of those pricey knives from a renowned knifemaker. There are a few things to consider when buying a folding pocket knife. This one is a pretty big folder. It might be too large for a general-purpose pocket knife for someone who works in an office setting. You will feel the weight if you wear light, summer weight dress pants. However, if you wear jeans, the heavier fabric will mask the weight. Also, while the wood and the brass on the handle look good, the brass will also show scratches. So, if you keep the knife in your pocket with coins and keys, the bolsters will get scratch marks. Yes, I would prefer Cocobolo wood to Walnut wood for handles, but please keep the knife's intended customer in mind. The prospective customer is probably one who owns a firearm. Gun stocks are typically walnut and the walnut handles would visually pair better with the woods used in the customer's firearm. A leather sheath would have been a more traditional choice rather than the black nylon included with the knife. This is a traditional knife, built with the warmth of real wood and the matte finish of brass. Personally, I prefer this look to the "commando" look, or the "techie" look. If you want something that looks more technical, pick one of the Spyderco models. If you want something that looks more like a military knife, this is not for you. This is the kind of knife that would look great being used alongside a Browning Citori over and under shotgun. This item would make a very elegant gift for the traditional sportsman in your life. The pin and the locking mechanism may require a light oiling from time to time, as with most folders. Highly recommended.

Very Nice Knife, Good Blade
I really like this knife. For a stainless steel,it has a pretty good blade of Swedish Sandvik 12C27. The comparable Buck 110 comes with the somewhat lesser quality 420HC stainless, a steel with a little less edge holding ability. 420HC is better than 420 or 420J, which are really cheap and shouldn't be confused with 420HC, but it is still just a little inferior to 12C27 and 440C. I don't think I can post external links here, but if you are interested in understanding knife steels, google "Joe Talmadge knife steel" for an excellent introduction to the topic. The fit on this knife is impressive. Finish on the bolsters was mediocre. Even being in a bubble pack, my copy had some scuff marks. I very easily hand polished these out to a beautiful finish. The wood looks great. The knife came literally shaving sharp. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and think it is well worth the price.

Great Knife!!!!
Great knife! It looks good with thebrass bolsters and wood cocobolo scales. Someone said it looked better than promo image and they were right. It's a solid knife, no blade shake or looseness. The grip/handle is a good size and is comfortable to hold. I' told it has good quality steel blade.. ( I'm not up on all the varieties of steel). It had a brushed finish, but I polished it up. I used a little Pledge on the scales. The only thing I didn't like was the belt lope, it looks like it will handle only smaller belt widths.I'm guessing that isn't a problem for most people, but I like a wider leather belt.Made in China, but I consider it a good quality knife.

Great
First of all, this knife is the best looking knife I have ever owned. The walnut handle is awesome!Mechanically, the knife is very tight. It solidly snaps fully open or fully closed with no slop whatsoever. When it first arrived the action was a little gritty so I spent some time working it back and forth and applied a very light coat of lithium grease on the moving parts. Now it is much better. It appears that this was NOT made in China (no "China" engraving on it whatsoever) . In fact along the back of the handle it says "Browning Morgan Utah"This is a gorgeous knife. Really a looker. I have bought this knife twice, once as a gift and later once for myself. I would buy it again in a heart beat.
