Excellent Product. Great for storing photos. Easy to use.

Easy to use and worth the money. Previously I bought a similar product but it was not as functional. This one was reliable and I was able to transfer my photos and videos off my iPhone and onto my laptop in a a few minutes. Great for backing up precious memories without paying a subscription for storage every month.

This does the job - on long trips, was running out of space on my iPhone. I'm not a fan of buying storage, so was looking for another solution. This device does the trick - easy to use with the reliability to expect from SanDisk. You plug it in - gives you some instruction where to get the app (i recommend downloading the app before any trip you take) and the app directs with the rest. After some typical set up (like allow all photos, etc) you choose the photos and done - gives you the option to delete the photos off your phone. Easy Peasy. But the biggest benefit I didn't expect is how much easier it is to transfer photos to my computer. I'm a PC user and it seems to take forever to transfer my photos and videos (especially when there's a lot) i tether my phone to my computer directly. This device saves me on that time - i just transfer the photos over via this dongle, and then i put the dongle into my computer - easy transfer. Other benefit is - it doesn't tie down my iphone any more. Only con of this flash drive is the rubber cover only "protects" one side of the drive. either the USB end or the lightning end will be covered, so there's risk of damaging it if you just throw it anywhere. I have a small pocket in my carry bag so it's not an issue, but just a warning in case you just want to keychain it or throw it around. It does the job - and gives a ton of storage - and honestly makes it easier to transfer photos to my computer vs the nightmare of plugging in my phone directly.

The app is very slow and takes way too long to load and copy photos. Also, I wanted to use it to MOVE photos from my phone to the flash drive but turns out you can only COPY. Which sucks because I have to go in and delete the photos on my phone myself after it's been backed up on the drive. Since iXpand drive is no longer being supported in April 2025, I used the SanDisk Memory Zone app instead so I'm not sure how different the apps are. However, the SanDisk Memory Zone makes my experience miserable. I don't know if it's due to the high volume of photos on my phone, but backup takes HOURS. Literal hours. I had to backup a few thousand photos and I still haven't backed up all my photos because it would drain my battery, so I can't do it in one go. Sometimes I have difficulty even connecting the drive to my phone. I'll plug it in and the app doesn't even register it so I have to mess around with taking it out and back in the port. And then I was also having an issue of the drive saying "specified destination is not available" when I was trying to backup photos. Still not sure how I solved that one. Another thing that I hate about the app is that I can only view the photos in list view and tile view, and tile view is two photos per row. Since I'm backing up thousands of photos, I have to scroll so much as well as wait a few seconds for the thumbnail picture to load, which makes it hard if I want to find a particular image. Lastly, for some reason the backed up photos won't load unless I change the sort by option. Not sure why that has to happen in order for the photos to show up. Either way, for a flash drive that is supposed to make life easier, it sure does the opposite. I'm sure once I get the hang of it it'll be fine but it is way too difficult for new customers to use. I only bought SanDisk because I had another flash drive for my Samsung phone which worked fine and I had to option to move photos (not copy them) and the app was pretty straightforward but this one for iPhone is a nightmare.

I had tried other cheaper devices and they all require a 3rd party app and that is where the troubles started with those other drives.. This drives app just WORKS! Its simple and kinda clunky but it works!

I have been using this flash drive (256 GB) for over a year with my iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 mini without any problems. Its biggest advantage is the iXpand IOS app which makes photo backup options a lot easier. Unfortunately the app does not currently work with my iPhone 15 Pro (early Oct 2023) which I suspect is a software issue with the iXpand IOS app or possibly file formatting on the iXpand device. It needs to be mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pro has a USB-C, not a Lightning connector so that plugging this flash drive in to an iPhone 15 requires a Syntech USB-C to USB3 adapter/convertor. A regular flash drive does work on my iPhone 15 Pro and can be seen using the IOS "Files" App. In fact pictures can transferred to that flash drive using "Photos" app ("Select">Send Icon>"Save to Files">Flash Drive XX Loc). But of course the iXpand app doesn't work. I tried plugging in the iXpand device but it is not recognized by the iXpand app nor does it show up under "Files", Online I found other Sandisk USB-C flash drives that connect directly to USB-C but they did not seem to have a IOS app. Hopefully Sandisk will issue a new version of their IOS app that supports iPhone 15 but until then I cannot recommend this device for iPhone 15.

Io vado ad iPhone dal 3g in poi fino al 15pro di oggi e non sono mai riuscito a digerire la mancanza di cartelle indipendenti per rigovernare quelle migliaia (e adesso centinaia di migliaia) di foto ammucchiate in un unico posto. Questa chiavetta ha un software semplicissimo e basilare che è perfetto senza bisogno di tripli salti mortali carpiati che ti obbligano usare parti di altri software, o ti rimandano a siti, abbonamenti ecc. È autosufficiente, si auto installa ed è pronta all'uso; intuitiva e veloce, permette di creare cartelle con sottocartelle all'infinito per dividere e organizzare foto, film, documenti, dati sensibili e personali. La velocità di trasferimento è direttamente proporzionale alla quantità di dati da trasferire: 10 foto un nano secondo, 100, qualche secondo; tutta la Divina Commedia in testo, 10 secondi. Sono stato tentato da altre chiavette che offrivano più capacità di memoria ad un costo tre volte inferiore ma non me la sono sentita di rinunciare all'affidabilità che già conoscevo per risparmiare e trovarmi con qualcosa che forse non mi garantiva quello che offre questa piccola meraviglia. Va da sé che la consiglio vivamente, no?

This is my 3rd piece as I used it for my iPhones , iPads etc. It’s a practical solution to have the iXpand as an additional backups. My wish is that it comes in higher capacities eg 512G to 1T.
