⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - good product

I have two desk chairs at my home office both of which had failing/failed gas lift cylinders. Given that the chairs were not super cheap I figured that I may as well see if a cheap replacement would work. And, I'm chuffed to say that these do. First off it appears that the sizes, or at least the diameters of these are fairly standard for most chairs. 2" for the cylinder and 1" for the piston. And yes, I know that's ancient imperial measurements but even today across the world including European nations inches is the most used standard for pipe. Fitting is easy. My chairs are a good representation of the average fitting and you simply knock the old piston out with the subtle aid of a decent hammer and push the new unit into place. A few minutes sitting on the chair with a lardy middle aged bloke and they will be firmly driven home. The one thing that is different with these is the overall length and the adjustable range. When I ordered these there were about the same overall length but the lower end of the range was higher. Fortunately, this was not an issue as both my wife and I use our chairs above the minimum. However, make sure you order the correct length just in case. Overall a cheap way to bring back to life a couple of chairs.

Old ram came out with a little persuasion with a mallet. Replacement was easy to fit and gives a lot higher rise than the old one. Now no longer looking up to the screen of my iMac I’m looking down far more comfortable on my neck.

Had this for 11months with no issue but recently started to leak so contacted them and they were really friendly and gave full refund without any issue, these things happen and its perfectly understandable, ordered new one straight away, Anyone in any doubts, dont, order it it has 5 years warranty and quality is top notch, really happy with the product, 5stars from me.

Had bought two mid range (Sonigmic) office chairs for my home office. Both lift cylinders failed and in fairness to Sonicmic, as soon as I asked they shipped replacement cylinders….no quibble! Unfortunately when package arrived it contained spare wheels n parts …. So rather than go thru all that again I just bought these bad boys. I opted for a little more in the height dept as I’m tall and my desk is built for ‘tall me’, so the chair not matches my height requirement and then some. The lift cylinder is rated for a bit more weight than the norm, so I’m hoping this ends my drama of dropping cylinders for good…..until I buy my KAB office chair that is! Have one of those at work and they’re the mutts nuts

Dont buy this product as it failed after less than three months of use.

Our desk is higher than standard and we had been using a cushion as the chair was too low. Changing the cylinder is much better. It is not as easy as the videos would suggest but I would suggest removing the castor side first by holding the chair upside down by them and having someone hit the cylinder with a mallet. Then you’ll need a pair of grips to turn the old cylinder until it comes free...

For a few days it was great but now the chair goes down itself so I have to keep getting up and put it back to the full height, obviously the ram is faulty wouldn't buy again

Fits perfectly in a standard chair base, but adds an extra one inch (minimum, when fully lowered) to two inches (fully extended) of height compared to the typical 5.5" piston. I'm tall and this lets me get much more comfortable. I'm also well over 200 lbs but not experiencing any drift/leakage, so the seals are sturdy.

Expanded Hieght is not 18", it is on 13". Avoid if you need the long one.
