Steamer that doubles as a soup pot
Doesn’t disappoint. Also doubles as a big soup pot because you can remove the steamer plates

5 star for what it is, which is a low cost steamer.
For the money, this is exactly worth what I paid for. If I wanted to spend $250, Im sure it would have been heavier gauge stainless steel, but I paid $65. Works very well. Steamed some mushrooms, zuchinni and some other veggies. Did as well as Id have expected. The stainless IS lighter gauge, but this is a steamer, not a football. Its heavy enough that it should only be damaged thru user error or accident. My experience is that lighter stainless is actually better overall because stainless steel tries to shed heat more when its thicker, unlike say cast iron which thicker holds heat better. I bought the second to smallest model of this steamer. perfect for the wife and I but it is VERY big, lol. More than we will ever need except if someone comes by for dinner. Buyers should expect a $65 steamer not a $200 model for this price range. In that, the pot is every bit a 5 star product. some notes based on reviews Ive read. 1. If the pot gets little white spots after use, thats calcium from hard tap water. Soak the pan in a little white vinegar and wipe with rag. 2. If the pan gets a rainbow color after use, thats from overheating. Dont turn the pot to high to try to heat the water. Ive had even name brand SS pots that didnt like max heat. 3. If your pan is rusting, thats generally from not making sure its dry after use. I nearly always wipe even stainless steel dry after washing it because its actually rust resistance, not rust proof.

I use this all the time and love it!
I purchased the 12.7” and it’s perfect for our needs. It’s a really big double steamer. I can put a whole chicken to steam or cut it up and place the pieces on the steamer tray with room to steam properly. I’ve used it to make a lot of steamed potatoes and vegetables and it’s great! The steamer tray is inset deep enough that I rarely use the 2 tier steamer. I can fill the water level up to 3” in a big area and then put the steamer tray on top and have plenty of water to steam. The lid is domed high enough that it provides the height I need for food items or a round casserole dish. It has 3 little vent holes to release some steam but not too big that it will lose the heat. It’s sturdy but a little heavier than an aluminum pot. I’ve stopped buying aluminum pot and pans because I didn’t want to consume any more aluminum and found this stainless steel. I’ve had this for over a year and use it almost twice a week. Easy to clean but you will need some space to store it. It’s a great value for the money.

Reheat a whole chicken + more
Reheating your food with steam means it's not rubbery like from a microwave, or dry like from the oven. This stainless steel, 3-layer, steamer is fantastic for large or small items, or several different kinds at once. It's big, we can steam an entire meal for two at one time. We live far from Costco so when we go we get several of their roasted chickens and freeze them. Put the entire, frozen, chicken on a plate (to catch the drippings) and steam it back to edible. It's just as tasty and juicy as when we bought it! It cleans up easily too.

Steamer Works, But Permanently Scarred
I have never owned or used a steamer before. Therefore, my concerns about the structural integrity of the steamer may be an overreaction. I have included photos to show the condition of the inside and outside of my pot after using it for the first time on a gas stove. Is it normal to have the unsightly and permanent discoloration after first use? Likes: • It looks like a beautiful steamer pot in my kitchen. The stainless steel is nice and shiny. • The pot is easy to use and seems to do a good job. • The clear viewing window at the top of the steamer is an excellent feature. • I like the fact that it has three levels to steam different types of food. I think it makes sense to steam meat on the lower level, veggies on the middle, and Chinese pork buns on the top. However, you have the flexibility to just use one or two levels if you just want to steam a single food item. Dislikes: • I’m concerned about the structural integrity of the steamer. The round steamer levels are somewhat flimsy. You will need to be careful when you wash them to make sure you don’t bend them. • The staining at the bottom of the pot (inside and outside) could suggest trouble in the future. • Food located near the side walls of the steamer did not seem to cook as well as food in the middle. This may mean that you have your best success locating your food over the perforated holes on the steamer levels.

Baught the 30cm one. Really big enough for us. It is as what it says think bottom, not too heavy, thick glass top. Good quality. Tried it immediately. Just like the design. Definitely recommend it.

Great size steamer that can fit mostly anything that you need to steam. I can even steam a whole large fish without even needed to cut the fish in two while other steamers I had cannot.

Leider enttäuschende Qualität. Topfwand ist recht dünn. Der Deckel tanzt, wenn das Wasser kocht und sehr viel Dampf entweicht. Größe ist super.

I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen and have been using waterbath canning to preserve a glut of cucumbers. It is quite expensive on electricity so I wanted to try steam canning. After a little research, this pan is perfect. The bottom rack keeps my jars out of the water beautifully. The vent makes it easy to know it is in full steam, and my jars all get that perfect seal. As a steamer, it is really easy to use. I can't wait to try some Chinese cooking... It will replace my steamer, stock pot and canning pot. I can even waterbath small jars if I feel the need!
