Fieldpiece ST4 Dual Temperature Meter, -58 to 2000F(-50 to 1300C)

I love this thing. My GF thinks I'm crazy because I take reading all across my house. Ideal for measuring delta T temps from return and supply. I also use it to measure subcooling and superheat. Easy to use and calibrate using ice water.

Pros: - Fast accurate readings of two probes - Solid construction - Good battery life Cons: - Have to press a button to switch between the two probes, would be nice if both could be seen on screen at the same time - It's a tad bulky - The thermocouples it came with were poor quality and both broke quickly - The carrying case it came with is pretty bad and I ended up just tossing it

This works well and seems to be accurate, but the two trim pot contacts seem to be a bit dirty out of the box. The readings were jumping around until I pressed down on the trimpots with my thumb. Then the readings became stable.

This meter is very accurate and works great. I found the included thermocouples cumbersome to work with so I went out and bought the clamp on style. I turned the included thermocouples into wet bulb thermocouples with an old hollow shoe string and alligator clips.

worked well and did the job- one thing to note , after setting the units of measurement turn the device off as will not go directly into reading microns but stays in the setting mode. After turning back on you can take readings in the units previously set. This is not explained in the manual and I sent my unit to Fiedpiece. They said it worked fine and sent it back still not making me aware of the fact that you needed to go from the setting mode to the reading mode. This could have been explained in the manual.

This is a great piece of equipment. I needed something accurate and reliable for performing work on commercial refrigeration equipment. Having the capability to calibrate each thermocouple independently is 100% necessary, and make sure you do so upon arrival. I would also do so everytime you put a new thermocouple in. The rubber boot and case are also handy. And the Velcro straps will hold me over until I decide to dish out the money for clamp type thermocouples. I was thinking of going with a cheap knockoff but am extremely happy that I decided to spend the money and get something that will last. And look professional while doing so.

One sensor doesn’t work, the customer service very poor, they asked me to ship back to Las Vegas, and I have to pay postage first, and they will refund $17 when the item Is received. It may cost over $40, and couple weeks. I’m really disappointed with Amazon service. No more purchase.

Great price, great features, no backlight which kind of sucks but it’s a very good tool! Use it for multiple HVAC/ refrigeration jobs
