Functions as described. Does NOT strip HDCP.
My goal was to be able to record the sound of the game being called on the radio married with the video from Comcast (cable provider) feed. This works like a charm if you are feeding output to the TV. When introducing a DVR into the path (I want to record each game), I am getting blocked by hdcp restrictions. So, this tells me this device does not strip hdcp. If it were sufficient to just watch the end result on TV instead of recording it, it works as desired; I was able to watch the game real time with audio being called from the local FM station - Merrill Reese calling a game can be breathtaking. It should be noted that my TV's are older and while take hdmi cable, no I hedged on rating it a 4 but expect a splitter in the path will strip hdcp. A five would have been considered if it also offered component video.

It does what it is supposed to, just plug it in and go
It does add a few seconds to the HDMI handshake time, but other than that minor annoyance it works perfectly.Just plug it in, set the input switch properly, and you are in business. This was the cheapest HDMI audio embedder I could find and I am glad I decided to try it out. It is very much light and plastic - I would have preferred a metal enclosure, but I was not willing to pay double the price of this one to get it.The extra delay in the HDMI handshake process is a minor annoyance, but I am not sure that it is a problem specific to this unit or if any device of this type will have the same issue. Because of that I did not deduct anything from my rating.Considering the price, I cannot find any fault with this adapter. If it was twice as expensive I would probably still give it 4 stars.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------8-10-2016 update:I've been using this for just about 2 years now. It's still working great.

Solved a sticky problem
We wanted a second TV in the kitchen that mirrored the living room TV - We'd had this for many years in the bad old analog days.I installed a 2x4 HDMI splitter and wired it up only to find that our Sony TV does a LOT of processing on the Video and Audio before it hits the display and speakers, and all this processing delays both the picture the sound. The 20" Samsung in the kitchen does very little processing before the display and speakers.Net result? The sound from the TV in the kitchen was always ahead, so you'd hear it a few milliseconds before the living room TV, which is very distracting if you were in earshot of both.I used this box to insert the delayed sound from the TV output, and now everything plays at the same time. It does mean the Image on the Kitchen TV if a few frames ahead, but it's fine for a kitchen TV.

Works fine
It does what it says - merge analog (RCA) sound onto an HDMI signal. I actually tested it chained behind an HDMI distribution amplifier and a long cable.Build quality is middling - plastic and all that. I wouldn't take it out into the field, but it'll be fine for plug-and-forget applications in a cabinet. It takes several seconds to lock the HDCP signal, as with most HDMI adapters. If you make chains of HDMI equipment (receiver -> this box -> multiplexor -> TV), don't be surprised to wait five seconds after plugging things together before you get picture and sound. Be patient.Cheers -- perry

Works great, but why are the lights so bright?
Works very well and it's easy to turn on/off. However, the lights are insanely bright. I keep it hidden away with the lights pointing away from any reflective surfaces and my eyes.I am using it to combine the 5.1 surround sound optical input and DVI converted to HDMI video input to a single HDMI output with video and 5.1 surround sound.

very good product save our video recordings with Canon 6 D
very good product save our video recordings with Canon 6 D. It allows us to input video from the camera and sound from the recorder combined together to to the Ninja2, for us to be able to encode the files with proper sound and image synched.

Quick & Easy Solution
It does what they it'll do. I had to return the first one because it would randomly lose it's HDMI link. The vendor graciously (and quickly) sent me a new one and it works perfectly.
