This is a bog standard adaptor from 1/4 to 3/8 as described, put definitely not the highest quality. It has a rim collar around the top, as opposed to a countersink. The external thread on mine seem to be adequate and fitted in easily into the number of items I've tried it on. However, the internal thread seems a little tight at the top which seems to slightly hinder inserting anything into the socket. This does however aid retention, so perhaps not exactly that bad, but if this was its purpose it would probably be better to have some tightness on both the external and the internal thread. I have never seen this as an intentional feature on any similar product in the past.There is only one adaptor in this item packet, where most other sellers I can see are offering them in sets.Personally, I would probably advise you pay a little bit more and get a quality item from a reputable manufacturer rather than this one. But if you need a simple single item to do this job, this seems adequate.--- addendum --I have had further thoughts on this.. (sorry if this is getting long)In an item like this which is intended to be used for high value items such as cameras , having something where the thread is not cut 100% correctly so it could damage other items or simply not be robust enough just seems Foolhardy.I will not be using this item on anything of value, and I will not be trusting it with anything heavy ever. I have also reached out to the seller to make sure they are aware. And I have already purchased some high quality alternatives to use in its place.For this price I am not too bothered and this price has taught me that I need to be spending the correct amount to get the correct quality item and this item is definitely not the quality item. So Money down the drain in buying this item but a good lesson learned.
