2001 ram 2500 w/ factory overload leaf
Great product i have installed many. First time installing on a ram with factory additional leaf. I had to set the bag at 5” height in order for the top frame mounted bracket to actually be bolted to the frame. Used bottom 4 holes on frame bracket. Left top two un used. Works great and still within the bag height specifications of 5-7” (no air pressure). Installed on a truck with a service body (loaded fairly heavy) without a trailer at 35 psi in each bag it leveled the rear and ride quality got 100 times better. Air Lifts products are far superior then other readily available options.

Fantastic
Having these installed makes a noticeable difference when hauling heavily loaded trailers. I installed the LoadLifter 5000 Series to a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 with a diesel engine. The installation was fairly simple, but took quite a bit of time. I would plan for at least 5-6 hours with this type of truck. Had to remove the wheel-well liners and reinstall them. Was thinking about cutting out a spot where they would rub against the air spring bellows instead of using the spacers provided, but haven't done that yet. Had to play around with the provided spacers for the liners and cut them shorter to make everything fit properly. I would say that process of reinstalling everything was the time consumer. With overload springs already factory installed it was a bit tricky to get the system lined up so that it would not hit the pickup bed as well as missing wires and brake lines attached to the frame on driver's side. Had to drill 8 holes in the frame, but with sharp bits that was not a problem. It is possible to install with one person, but would strongly recommend a helper. The instructions say the space between brackets needs to be between 5" and 8". When determining where is best for drilling the holes I found it helpful to cut a small measuring stick to help keep the brackets parallel and spaced properly. Just place the stick between the brackets, mark your holes and drill them. I would recommend drilling one hole, installing a bolt with nut snug, but not tight, in order to hold the bracket stable while marking and drilling the other holes. Overall the average backyard mechanic would have no problems with the installation.

Air Bags Install
First time ever installing air bags on a vehicle. The online video makes it look easy but in reality it was not that easy. The first problem I had was that I have a 5th wheel hitch installed. I missed the part on line to say I needed kit so in so if I have a 5th wheel hitch. Reason being it requires a special top bracket. I got the kit in and took out what seem like a very lot of parts. Studied the manual over and over and realized I needed that special bracket. Contacted company and they confirmed it. Well I had to buy that separate which if I had gotten the right kit to start with I would not have had to do this. The installation manual could have had a little more info and maybe pictures to help a little more but it worked out okay. Had to cut the excess material from the 4 u bolts from each side that hold the springs to axle so it would not be in the way of the air bag bottom bracket. This was no easy task. If I had to install another set of air bags it would go much easier knowing what I know now. Like anything when you do something for the first time it is always harder. I used the air bags July 4th week when I pulled our camper to beach. When we take the camper like that I also have a golf cart that I put in back of truck. So the cart and camper adds about 8000 more pounds to my truck. I was very pleased this time around with air bags installed. Made a world of difference in handling of the truck. Stopping seem to be better as well. Over all I am very pleased with the product and highly recommend them.

I like the way this model sits over the axle to ...
I have not installed the air springs, henceforth called devises, yet but I have performed a "fit check". The devices fit. The Amazon app for checking if these devices fits my vehicle (Chevy truck, 1985, K 10) indicates this model (57215) does not fit my vehicle. But before buying I looked at installation pics (online), reviewed installation manual (downloaded pdf) and measured pertinent areas on my truck and determined they do indeed fit. I like the way this model sits over the axle to leaf spring intersection. I like the quality of the devices and they are parked well - no missing bolts, etc. The reason I gave "4 star" is I thought documentation could have been better. Actual mechanical drawings containing diameter of rubber spring, dimensions of brackets, size of clamp down "u" bolts (actually square bolts) would have been fantastic. Put a full scale drawing out for brackets so end user can print out drawing(s), take to their vehicle and place it on the frame to see if it all fits.

Carries the load
My work trucks are always loaded with equipment or materials, a truck with a load rides different, and you get used to that. It was amazing the difference these air springs make amd wish I had them years ago. They aren't that hard to install, but it does require crawling around under the truck and reaching around and through things. To drill the frame does require taking the wheels off. If you are looking to "lift" your truck to ride tall with these, don't. They are for trucks that have loads. It's a load lifter, just like the name says, empty trucks won't benefit from these. One of my trucks has a service bed and that makes it sit low, these raise the back up to a normal ride height. I even tried it with a 2000lb load on the tail and put 65psi in the springs to make it look level, worked great. The truck handles great with a full load. Even with service bed I need to keep 15psi in them, but with a regular pickup that is empty 5psi is normal. After a truck is unloaded the pressure does need to be reduced or it will bounce more. The ride is quieter and smoother when the truck is no longer riding on the overload leaf, and these air springs help keep it off of them so that it sits like an empty truck. Best upgrade of the year.

Very happy with quality, although first shipment came with wrong hardware (bolts) which caused damage to bags, Amazon/airlift quickly rectified the problem and replaced bags at no additional cost. I also added the compressor to my system and very happy with it.
