Kasugai Kuro Ame Black Sugar Hard Candy, 5.29 oz (Pack of 3)

These are really tasty candies, very unique. I would describe it like black licorice without the anise flavor, or molasses (def tastes like molasses). Will def buy again, this brand always delivers on quality

I like them and i am not big on candy but these candies are rather unique in flavor. It is a hard candy all the way through. You are supposed to let them melt in your mouth and not chew them. For being a sugar made candy these are not overly sweet.

They are tasty, but I gave 4 star because it's expensive than store.

A Japanese friend introduced me to these and I am addicted now! She called them 'brown sugar candy' which made me think of brown sugar like for baking, but it's not a brown sugar flavor. It's more like sugar syrup or molasses that has been simmered and reduced for a long time. A burnt sugar flavor with hints of caramel and vanilla and cinnamon. I've never tasted anything else like it.

These are basically just a lump of hard sugar, but they are tasty!!!

On the packaging it states that these candies could cause cancer based on California standards. It doesn't say this in the advertisement, and I didn't see this sticker until I repurchased the candy. Since seeing this label, I will no longer purchase this candy. Just be aware.

Product is great but I only got half of my order

Tastes like brown sugar with a hint of molasses, but is slightly sweet and not overbearing. 19 pieces on average per bag at 25 calories a piece. 450 calories a bag total. Takes around 10-20 minutes to suck through one piece if you don’t chew.
