Oh man. We got this for Christmas for our 9 year old, Hogwarts-obsessed son and we literally have not stopped playing in almost 2 months. He asks for this every single day. We love playing this as a family (mom, dad, 9 year old and 12 year old) and were surprised at how quickly we were able to learn all of the ins and outs as we’ve never played a card-building game. We love the cooperative aspect of it and that we all have to work as a team instead of as opponents.The cards are high quality with familiar faces. Considering we’ve played this almost daily, we’ve more than gotten our moneys worth and it’s been the best game purchase we’ve made in a very long time.Oh, and get the expansion packs while you’re at it!

NOTE: This is an expansion - you need the base game. It is optional whether or not you also have the prior expansion.We pre-ordered this back in July, got it yesterday and immediately played. The base game was one of our favorites and we loved the Monster Box of Monsters expansion. For our first game, we played Box 1 of this set, combined with all 7 years of the base game and all 4 boxes of the Monsters expansion. I don't know if we got lucky or are "just that good", but we crushed it - in a 3 player game, we made it through with zero stuns and without losing the first location. (In fact, at the instant we won, we had no marks on the location and were all at 10 health, so I guess that's as decisive a win as possible.) That said, it was still a lot of fun and it didn't feel too easy, though I am hoping that the challenge picks up a bit with Box 2. The Box 1 addition of "charms" is a nice touch, particularly making the specific charm dependent on the character's health level. After winning, we opened Box 2 and that looks like a neat game mechanic to add.I will echo another reviewer's comment - the production is a little off in that the cards from this set are ever so slightly shorter than the cards from the other sets. It's noticeable when you shuffle and have the draw piles. I wouldn't gamble for money with cards this mismatched, but honestly, unless you're trying to study a draw pile AND have an opinion about the relative preference for a new card vs an old size card, it doesn't really matter, so I didn't ding them a star for it.Here's hoping that we'll get yet another expansion in the future and, in the meantime, that boxes 2-4 are as much fun to play.

Everything was packaged neatly, many pieces, and yet each was explained perfectly well. Boxed where each part of the game introduces new elements but are boxed separately to not overwhelm. The box is sturdy, much like the original. The components are well-made and durable. Gives many new hours of entertainment to expand the original game! Our family loves this game!!

My family and I have played literally everyday during our quarantine in 2020 the Hogwarts Battle Co-op game that we decided to invest in this expansion. I highly recommend this expansion game once you've mastered the base game of Hogwarts battle and have a good understanding of the Monster Box of Monsters Expansions. The only downfall of this game is the size of the cards and the different shade of cards. Other than that, it is a great game to play and you can play as Ginny!If you are a Harry Potter fan and love card building co-op games, this expansion will add an additional difficulty to keep playing! It's also fun to add all the games together to create your own difficulty of all types of levels from each game.

Super fun game to play especially for those who don’t love games because of being super competitive 😊😂 with this board game everyone works together to win - you either win as a group or lose as a group. It’s easy to learn, even if you aren’t a Harry Potter fan 😃

I really enjoy the addition of the Charms abilities. I felt it was a great addition. I also like that the locations differentiate a 2-3 player game vs a 4-5 player game.The only thing that is a bummer is that they did not include (at least in pack 1) cards to separate the new packs, so I will have to make my own to separate Ginny’s cards and new pack cards from the other years and player when I repack up the game.

The copy of this expansion that I picked up looks really good and is a great addition to the main game. The cards in this are now cut to the correct dimensions of the cards from the main game and first expansion, but the coloring on the back is darker for this expansion as compared to the others, but putting colored sleeves on the cards is good. I had picked up colored sleeves for other card games from a local gaming store for fairly cheap, so I was able to use those for the main cards.
