Hog Hunting Made Simple: A Beginners Resource To Hog Hunting
R**R
Exceedingly elementary
The title suggests that this is for a beginning hog hunter, and the "beginner" feature cannot be overestimated. Print is very large, with little on each page, helping to fill the book. Diagrams are remarkably rudimentary, appearing designed for a 7 year-old. The book presupposes that the reader knows nothing at all about hunting in general, making it a disappointment for me. There really isn't much here specific to hog hunting. Rather, it's a review of assessment of wind direction, sun orientation, concealment, weapon choices (surprisingly limited), camouflage, odor modification, and the like. This would be well-suited for someone without appreciable hunting experience, who plans to hunt feral hogs as their first hunting experience.

Some good info for beginners
I've hunted whitetails all my life but never hogs. As a complete novice to hog hunting, I did get some good information specific to hog hunting and I would recommend the book to someone else who is considering hunting this animal for the first time. The beginning sections of this book provide general hunting information are also good for someone who has never hunted before.I've also read the same author's book on Mule Deer hunting and the first several chapters are the exact same text with just the words "Mule Deer" and "hogs" swapped out. Also, it would appear that this book was never even proofread prior to publication. There are tons of mistakes and typos, some humorous such as talking about a rifle cartridge shooting "buckets" instead of bullets. I can't understand why someone would go to all the trouble to write a book and not proofread it.The other issue with this author is he has published this exact same book with the title changed to "Feral Pig" Hunting and find and replace done for the words "hog" to "feral pigs" which are both on Amazon. Seems like a lazy attempt at spamming Amazon with the same content. As mentioned, the information he provides is legit, just the way in which he does so seems cheap and questionable with multiple books. Since the content of the books is the same for general hunting advice, I suggest he combine all the books and just have different sections for different animals. And for God's sake proof read your book before publishing!
