Well made budget shock mount that fits the SM58 perfectly
I really like this mount. I think its a great budget option. The package includes the mount and adapter with two extra rubber bands. The whole mount is made of metal, which makes it feel like it will last, but time will tell. The mount securely holds my Shure SM58 and will definitely hold any mic with a similar diameter no problem. My mic is mounted to a boom arm connected to a table, and it seems to be doing a good job minimizing vibrational noise. I don't know how this mount compares to more expensive options, but this is working perfectly for me.

Good sound isolation for the price
I'm using this with a Sennheiser e835 and it fits perfectly. The sound isolation is remarkably good for such an inexpensive mount and the build quality seems pretty good. It came with a spare set of cords which is sensible. Now that I have lived with it for a while I wanted to post an update. I have it mounted to a small rig ballhead and that is on a King Joy mini tripod base sitting on my desk. To be fair this is a far from ideal situation; however it is what it is. I get excellent isolation from knocks and bangs on the desk so my typing doesn't transmit as thunder - only the clicking of the keys. However I get absolutely no isolation from the motor vibration from my backup drive. I don't hear the head noise - only a constant droning from the platter motor for as long as that is spinning. As a test I laid the microphone directly on the desk and get exactly the same level of sound. If this were an expensive Neumann mount I would be upset but, at this price point, I can't really complain. Just be aware that you may want to re-locate your backup drive to another surface if you use this mount!

Perfect choice for Samson Q2U
I've been using this for several years now and it works just as well as the day it arrived. Very sturdy clasp, strong bands, and adjustable bracket. Perfect!

Works great except for spanner levers
The "spanner levers" (I made up that term; don't know what they're actually called) stretch the "mic grip" (made up that term, too) in order to fit a microphone inside. I use a Samson Q2U, similar in diameter to a Shure SM 58. When I squeezed the spanner levers to get my mic in, one of them slipped from its mount, leaving no way to open the mic grip. I reinserted the spanner lever several times without success. Finally, using two pairs of plyers, I reshaped the spanner lever to fit more firmly by widening it and bending the hooks to a more acute angle. That did the trick, although I still had to twist and turn the mic so hard it almost tore the padding inside the mic mount. That and the newly shaped spanner lever still teetered on the brink of slipping out again. But it finally worked. The good news is, that mic ain't goin' NOWHERE! But I don't know what I'll do to get it out, or to insert another mic. Either the spanner levers should consist of stronger steel—perhaps spring steel—or the mic grip should be less "grippy." I would think the former because holding the mic firmly in place is important. Once my mic was in place, the shock mount seems to work well, blocking out most all shocks and bumps.

BLUE EMBER shock mount. Its heavy and decent enough quality. Or doesn't fit like a glove but it works and the blue ember is a great mic with bad rejection and insulation....so this makes a great value mix and even better value. Basically

This is lightweight, sturdy, and provides good isolation. I like it. But, I don't like it a lot for one reason. It is sold as 'Shock Mount Mic Holder For Samson Q2U' That's my mic. The mic does fit. But it is VERY tight - this mic takes the mount to the absolute linit of its capacity. Therefore getting the mic into it is tricky. And the retractor clips are not as sturdy as the rest of the mount. Many times, they popped out of their holders when trying to open the clamp enough. I did get the mic in, but it was frustrating and I am concerned that repeated insertion/extraction may cause the clips to bend or break.

So I was asking a lot buying a shock mount with a 1-star review but there isn't an awful lot of choice when it comes to having a Samson Q2U, so I went ahead with the purchase regardless. Actually fitting the Q2U in the mount was a 2 person job, as others have stated, the fit is extremely tight, and I had to push the Q2U in, while someone else was holding the mount. Yes, the lever arms were depressed fully. So after initially being impressed and wanting to give it a 4-star review, along came the next issue.... The bolt and thread holding the shock mount at an angle have threaded leaving the mic dangling now and possibly rendering the mount useless. My only option now is to just let the mount hang off the boom arm and use the boom arm to adjust any angle, not sure if it will work but what options are there? Shame really, this could have been a great shock mouth if they used a beefier bolt. EDIT I have changed my rating from 1 stars to 2 stars. The mount does work really well at absorbing vibration and does hold the mic in so tight, there is no fear of it falling out. But because of the bolt issue, I can only have it angled at around 45 degrees towards my mouth using the boom arm screw instead. Works perfect with a dynamic mic, but if you had a condenser, this would now be going in the bin.

Fits perfectly with ATR2100Xusb. Make sure you hold clamps strong enough when ur sliding the mic into it. Ppl been complaining about scratches on their mics when putting it on, they just didn't opened the jaws enough. You can also remove the clamps after, looking good overall.
