So easy, fragrant and flavorful!
I got a used aero garden from a friend and needed some pods to plant. I chose herbs because I used them the most and figured that would be the easiest. I planted these at the end of August and have been using hers since late September. It is mid October now. As you can see in the video, some of the herbs did not grow, but I truly believe that is my fault because I did not trim back and use the savory so the light is not getting to them, but that could be an issue and I’m sure it’s different for each batch so don’t let that dissuade you. I am very happy with the herbs. I did get out of this as I wasn’t expecting much. They’re very fragrant and flavorful. Very easy to grow!

“New” versions of the seed pods simply do not work.
Like another reviewer, we have been using AeroGarden systems for several years. I was disappointed when they went “out of business” and very happy to see them return. I purchased two packs of the “variety of lettuce” (which does not tell you which lettuce will be growing so its a surprise when it sprouts) and two boxes of this Italian Herb Seed Pod Kit. The lettuce was the old packaging, clearly left over from before they went out of business. The herbs came in new brown boxes that honestly was better for the environment, but did not have much of what the old boxes had, like the clear plastic covers or even the black hole covers. Fortunately I have a ton from before. In any event, like the other reviewer, the ONLY thing that sprouted from the herb pack was basil. Heck not even the mint grew, and that stuff is like a weed and can grow under just about any conditions. So after four weeks, I pulled the first pods out and opened the second box. Same results. Absolutely NOTHING grew. Meanwhile the “old style” lettuce is doing just fine. For now, stay away from this brand. They clearly are not doing something right.

Nothing has grown.
So disappointed. Absolutely useless as nothing is growing. I had grown ones last year. This time not one sprout.

Always grows quickly into strong well producing plants.
I've used these multiple times to start my Aero Garden over from scratch. The pods sprout within days and once the leaves start peaking through the paper, they grow very quickly! Often times within 2-3 weeks, I have so much basil I can hardly use it fast enough. Trimmings from the plants can also be used as starts and transplanted to other pots. Many times I take trimmings and put in a glass of water and they'll start rooting into the water if I don't eat them after a few days. Within a month, the Aero Garden is overwhelmed with basil and I make pesto. But if I don't get around to making pesto or using as much as I thought, the plants can easily get out of control and take over. They'll grow around the lights and even go to seed if not pruned regularly. I'm still kind of learning how to extend the usable life of these plants because after about 3 months of regular pruning and using small quantities daily, the plant just gets thicker and more hearty and the leaves grow kind of yellow instead of deep green. They'll sometimes begin to flower and go to seed if left untouched long enough. Right now, I have some older growth from my last kit, and the stalks are so thick now that they still produce a lot of leaves, but as a mature plant, they drink nearly a pitcher of water a day and drop leaves all over the place. When it gets to this point, I usually order another kit to start over and when I clean out the Aero Garden reservoir, the root system is incredible almost completely filling the machine. I think it's probably best to transplant each pod into a pot outside the Aero Garden before the roots get so embedded once it hits maturity like this.

Some do and some don't
I have been using my aerogarden for years. Out of the 6 only 4 grew. The oregano and thyme did not. Whenever I buy these packs it always seems that one or two do not grow. The ones that do grow seem to grow well. It is a bummer.

Herb-Growing Roulette
Only half of the pods sprouted. Not a good value since the cost of the remaining three basically doubled. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like you’re basically playing roulette as to what will and won’t sprout. Save your money.

All 6 Pods did not germinate
I used to love my Aerogardens (I have two Harvest units) for years. Then Aerogarden 'went out of business', wasn't selling seed pods anymore :( I tried generic brands (horrible, pods didn't fit or didn't grow) I tried buying "grow anything" pods which you add your own seeds to pods...again, either the pods sizes were off and/or the seeds didn't grow... plus trying to get a bottle of the right fertilizer or figure out what to use (fertilizer brand, proper ratio to use in the Aerogarden ...) was another nightmare. I was so very happy when Aerogarden decided to reestablish itself and start selling again! They were no longer offering a 'select your own' choice of individual seed pods that i preferred, but I was happy enough to get my Aerogarden up and running again with their herbs kit complete with their MiracleGro fertilizer so i ordered this pre-made selection of assorted ones. Delivered, set up immediately, so excited! 3 weeks later, not one of the six seed pods germinated. Not one. As i said, I've been doing my Aerogardens for YEARS, I'm not a newbie, I did everything correctly... these pods were all duds. I contacted Aerogarden as directed on Amazon. They opened a "case" and now I wait, hoping for a refund, and really very disappointed not to have my herbs growing (it's Fall in NY right now, no more outside gardening :(

This was gifted to us the Christmas of 2019. The Tyme, parsley and basil grew well. When spring arrived it was transplanted in the greenhouse. Thus was useable for many months. Consequently I reordered the seed pods from Amazon to begin another growing process. I love the process of growing during winter months and having fresh herbs. It’s an extremely easy 1–2-3 process.

I purchased my Aerogarden during the COVID pandemic, and appreciate now having direct herbs growing downstairs for quick access in the fall/winter months when my garden isn't available! I appreciate the pods coming to be via Amazon Prime, and I don't think Aerogarden now delivers directly to Canadian addresses and this saves me time looking around for them. All the pods I received on this order grew successfully!
