Excellent product that seems to be well built and connects nicely into our Honda 2000 generator. Heavy plastic that has been durable for when dragging cords through gravel and dirt. Easily installed in 10 minutes. I have three different length cords and use these ends on all and have had no issues at all with rough abuse.

Great product to purchase when trying to use your generator as a backup generator for your house. Purchased this since I wanted to install my traditional 14-50 outlet below the main electrical panel while still being able to use my old style generator 220/240V plug to power up the house (in case of a power outage). ** This product was slightly modified to fit the extension cord onto the locking bracket. I used a razor blade to remove both sides of the inner plastic to fit a 14-50 40Amp (2 8WG, 2 10AWG) extension cord inside there. The 8AWG wires fit perfectly inside the screw terminals when fully unloosened (which was my biggest concern with this outlet). The terminal screws are pretty durable, they didn’t strip until when I reached the maximum tightness I could achieve. Make sure you cut the appropriate amount for wire before you shove in the outlet to ensure there is no “exposed cable” showing but rather the black protective cable. In my case, I had to cut almost 3” of wire to achieve this result.

When we bought a new, bigger generator last winter I had to re-wire the male end of the genny extension cord from a standard 120v plug to this locking 4-prong 30amp hook up, so it's now the same set-up as the female end, for connecting to our home's circuit breaker panel. Instruction sheet wasn't the most detailed I've ever seen (LOL), but it was good enough to walk me through the changeover procedure. Swap from the old plug to this new one took all of maybe 10 minutes and the new plug hooked up and works like a charm. We also bought a new, longer cord to allow us to run our generator outside of the garage, but we'll be keeping the old, short cord as a back-up, thanks to this new plug. Price for this new plug was about $5-7 cheaper than what the local big box stores in my area wanted, so it was a no-brainer to buy this through Amazon. Rugged, easy to use, affordable. 5 STARS
