This is durable, metal, and everything you would need. I replaced the mount on the cheap E-mart ring light with this and a metal flex mount that's usually for soft-boxes. It's awesome! I'm so happy! If you have a cotton carrier this is a wonderful product. I wanted to use my tripod mount and cotton carrier plate at the same time. I also use this to hold my flash unit for bird photography as well. Cotton carrier sells a $40 unit that allows you to have 2 1/4 inch screws. This has so much versatility and the sides allow me to add a key ring for the cotton carrier safety straps. I would definitely recommend this to anyone trying to make the most of their lens collar. As you can see it is plenty strong because this camera with the flash unit weighs a considerable amount.

I have a Sony AR6500 and recently purchased Olympus TeleConverter Olympus Teleconverter TCON-17X (Black) for Sony 55-210 Sony SEL-55210 55 mm - 210 mm f/4.5 - 6.3 Zoom Lens for E-mount . The combo give tele equiv of 537mm with excellent pictures. However, the setup is very unbalanced, esp weight of TeleCon. P&C video handle NEW Photography & Cinema pistol grip handle FOR Digital DSLR Cameras helps, but still unbalanced. The SmallRig switch plate allows me to shift the P&C Handle exactly under the center of gravity, making it easy to hold. These have to be one of the most versatile cheese plates that you can get. Also, for this only being ~$10 it's an incredible deal. I use these to mount my project boxes to, mount them on cameras and other equipment, and all other sorts of things. I've probably bought at least 10 of these by now. Great product!

I used this in my macro studio to adapt a linear stage to some other components. Worked well. It's a good quality part.

Small Rig makes really great, solid hardware for camera rigs. The metal feels as if it’s machined within a tolerance of a nanometer, and the entire surface is painted black evenly. There are no sharp edges to it, and it’s solid metal. I know it’s just a piece of metal, but I’ve purchased cheap hardware before that doesn’t quite fit right, or has paint chipping off, or an edge that should be filed down. So believe me when I say that this item is well manufactured, and that matters, even with simple pieces of metal meant to hold items together. Well worth the price.

You can make these yourself even if you had a shop, for this price. And they look good, hold up under use, and can be repurposed. If one is building their own rigs this is a way to get the parts.

I just use this as a riser plate for my baseplate, but these things are versatile and have so many uses for expanding mounting points to camera gear.

The product is good and very useful. But it doesn't seems like it's made of stainless steel or something that's very durable.
