Most figures share same rabbit body base
The pattern notation dc is not United States double crochet or double chain. It means sc or single crochet. Once I figured out that difference, I was up and running on stitching cute mini amigurumi.I photographed my 4 completed characters next to a Campbell's soup can to show sizing. The actual finished figure size depends on the type of yarn or fibers you use, the size of crochet hook, and your stitching gauge or tightness. My gray elephant and white rabbit are the largest because I used Velvet Chenille yarn for amigurumi and 4mm crochet hook. It's approximately 1/4" -3/8" diameter yarn. The red squirrel is from 100% cotton yarn with 3.25mm hook. The black panda is from acrylic yarn and 3.5mm hook. They're smaller due to the approximate 1/8" diameter of the yarn. I had to use a smaller crochet hook size to keep the stitches close enough that the fiber fill stuffing wouldn't all show through or fall out.You use the same pattern or stitch count for every size amigurumi, but the yarn diameter and crochet hook size varies. You could use the same mini patterns with chunky yarn and larger crochet hook if you wanted larger figures. For mini keychain sized figures, stick with narrower yarn or fibers and smaller crochet hooks.Beginners will have an easier time seeing their stitches with cotton or acrylic yarns. Chenille velvet or eyelash yarns are harder for absolute beginners due to potential fiber shedding and less pronounced stitches.I still have 22 animals left to try by the book. However, I have plans beyond just these. By varying colors, fiber types and sizes will give more than just 26 animal options. The horse in white sparkle yarn with the smaller rhino horn attached to the forehead could make a cute unicorn. The squirrel's legs with a fox's head and tail in monochromatic tan could make a kangaroo.Once you make a few, it's easy to come up with your own variations and designs. I could have used the panda body pattern in red and green instead of white and black as a cute strawberry and leaf top, for example. The elk could be a moose. Make little paws under the hedgehog for a taller hedgehog or even a porcupine.

Mini Amigurumi Crochet Book
This Amigurumi Crochet book is really cute, the colored pictures show what the pattern looks like when finished. The directions to patterns are really easy to read. If you want to make a mini smaller than wooble size Amigurumi animal, then this book is for you, these patterns are more for making things like keychains, etc. in my opinion , as I decided to gift this book as I didn’t realize when I bought it that they would be really tiny, as having arthritis in fingers, I wasn’t able to continue making these. But the overall book is written really easy and good to follow and has a lot of cute tiny animals to crochet.

Adorable, easy, delightful!
I ADORE these patterns! Absolutely delightful to make. I'm in the US and had never used UK patterns before, which has required some mental gymnastics lol, but these are totally worth it. I've made them with size 4 chenille and a 3.5mm hook. They take maybe 2hrs each (i make them while working, so not solid on the time) and are adorable! I immediately came back to order the sea creature book! I can't wait to try those!

Written in UK crochet, but easy to adjust if you need to. 😊
I love these little patterns! I got all three books. Took me a moment to notice being in the US that the patterns were written for UK. That dc was actually a sc. so they were a lot simpler than I initially thought. Great little easy cute pattern to make and well written, sone of my favorite books as a beginner by far!

Mistake in patterns
There is an error in the patternsIt starts with 5dc in all the patterns. It should be sc, it really makes a difference.I hope this helps other people using this book. Frustrating to do the first animal and it doesn't look like anything that the book shows.Good luckI do enjoy making this small animals

A Great Guide
The directions in this book are clear and easy to follow. I’ve been experimenting with different yarn and hook sizes with these animals and so far they’ve all turned out great!

Adorable patterns in UK terms
I really love this whole series of books. The patterns are easy to follow and come out great. Be aware they are in UK terms but those are easy enough to decipher.
