I love this product. I use the dark brown in my part/"upper regions" of my hair and the light brown in the bare areas above my temples so that the transition from my skin, which is very fair, to my hair is not so harsh. My hair is actually medium brown, but I found the medium brown to be a little too warm on me. I think a cooler color, even if it's a little bit darker than my natural hair produces a much more natural look. Besides, roots should be a little bit darker than the rest of your hair. I have medium to even light blond highlights throughout my hair (especially) towards the end, and the dark brown still works beautifully. Not only does this cover my scalp, thereby making my hair look fuller, it actually gives a little "grip" and texture if you bring it slightly into the roots of your hair. I actually apply it with a small cotton ball so that I know I am always using a clean manner of applying the product. This stuff is fantastic, really well-priced, and the seller sent me a few emails with application tips. This product can be used wet or dry, but dry works for me.

Review Thicken It Medium Brown for female user. I have Dark Brown Auburn hair, with a very high forehead & receding temples, so I use it along the front. Color is perfect. Depth is perfect (it can be layered to go darker). Size of compact with applicator inside is perfect size for: hands, storage, travel. Price is GREAT! I can use this for thin spots on back or sides, but Age Beautiful Root Touch-Up Med Brown SPRAY is easier. Tried Dermatch: Color was ghastly & dull, compact size is NOT good for hands, storage, travel, & price is exquisitly high. I have tried many product over the last 8 years & I am done searching! Thicken-It is perfect for me!

I really like this product. I'm a redhead with long hair. The light brown, blends so nicely. And no one seems to notice that I use it.I started some years ago using DermMatch, & I thought it was great! But, after trying Thicken It, I was sold on the product.It's about 3 times cheaper, & goes on so much easier. It may be a lighter texture, but it certainly covers the areas well.I use it mainly in my bang area, & temples. When wearing a ponytail, I put some by the ear area as well.I hope this helps. I was looking for something that would remove the shine off my head. This works well but so would garden dirt. Application is easy, certainly easier that washing your pillow cover everyday which is what you will have to do it you are applying this to the crown. I think the look it provides is fine but it's a daily thing as anything rubbing against it will remove it. Water, such as rain will make it run off. Maybe a spray sealer would protect it better but I would use brown spray paint at that point.

This product is great to cover grays in between hair appointments .

One of the applicators was used yet it was sent to me as new. I threw that one away and at least I still have two others. I do not like the color. I thought I would receive a light brown. Instead, the color is more of a red. I wasn't happy with this product and would not recommend it. I should have returned it. Useless product and a waste of money. There are better products that I have personally tried. That is my experience with this product.

I have always loved the Thicken it product. Except recently I have ordered Thickin it in the silver can dark brown. However I received dark brown in a black can... talc free. This is the worst stuff. It not water resistant, it get all over your fingers if you touch your hair. I am so disappointed in Thicken it. Do not but Thickin it in the black can talc free. The silver can is great.
