So easy to use great docking system
super cool and handy Dispenser. Just fill it with your favorite oil, put the lid back on. The basting brush just sits in side the top. If you need to add a little oil to season your pan, you just give the brush a little squeeze and it sucks up a little oil into the brush. Then you can brush it on your pan, meats, or even use it salads. Before having this I would just poor my oil out of the container, and a lot of the time I would pour too much. This gives me more control. Which means less waste of oil, and less oil in my cooking/ meals. This Silicone Basting oil dispenser works very well and is a great addition to my cooking, kitchen and family. i love the softness of the brush. heat resistant silicone squeeze brush and glass jar. Unique docking system for dip and basting , great for oiling pans, brushing on BBg sauce and brushing pastries. The silicone brush is a bulb ,similar to a medicine dropper that you might use for a baby. the bristles are cut on a curve so you can easily cover entire service . i loved how it got in the nooks and crannies of my veggies like cauliflower . I'm going to use this in the summer by putting butter inside and using to butter corn on the cob. less mess fr everyone. cleans up very easily. you can fill the bulb up and it doesn't clump out or all at once too. no mess!!!!!. easy to clean, hot soapy water , dried it in a rack with bulb facing down. i have also used the dishwasher with no problem. if you brush this across meat do not put back in cradle.

Okay Basting Brush
I bought this to replace a high-end mister, which turned out to be total crap. This is a step up and will definitely last longer than the mister. The only thing I don't like about this thing is it's hard to control the amount of oil that comes out. You have to squeeze pretty hard to get it to release the oil, and then sometimes it delivers more than you want. But there is no problem with clogging, sputtering, or difficulty cleaning like there is with the misters. Not my ideal way to deliver oil, but for the price it's okay.

Nice gadget, works well.
This is actually the second of these gadgets that I have purchased, I got one from another seller on Amazon about eight months ago and just love it. So much in fact, that I realized that a second one was in order, so that I can rotate them, and not have any downtime for washing and drying. I use this thing multiple times a day, most days. My first one looks and works as good as it did the day I got it. I am eating healthier lately, but love to cook, and I don't like the flavor of the spray oils, plus there is always some messy over spray. This item allows you to add just the smallest sheen of oil to a pan, evenly across the surface. It's great for sautéing and wonderfully easy to scanty oil a batch of muffin tins. The unique thing, that sets this apart from the rest, isn't really adequately described in the listing. It has a sort of basket that the brush rests against, and a tube that allows you to suction up the oil into the handle, without the brush sitting in, and picking up gobs of oil. Hard to describe, but this allows you to end up with a brush that isn't dripping with oil, but rather has just the right amount on the actual brush itself. The really nice part is that if you need a bit more oil, you just have to give the handle a little squeeze an you get an easily controlled burst of oil. With a little practice you can get just the right amount every time, effortlessly. I have tried many similar items that have all fallen short in design and execution. Some dispense a huge amount of oil at a time, from a dripping brush, while others the oil seeps out over time, leaving you with a mess. Most do not seem to be designed to leave on the counter, at the ready, as this one is. And this is attractive enough to leave sitting on the counter. It's a nice bonus that it matches my kitchen too. The only drawback for me is that the tube doesn't reach the bottom of the ( Slightly domed) jar, so you don't get that last bit of oil without unscrewing the top. I partially remedied that by adding a snippet of silicone tubing, to extend it to the bottom. And I also wish the basket doohicky was made of something other than plastic. So, not totally perfect, but short of designing it myself, I am very pleased with the simplicity of its use and cleaning.

Oil can pick up residue and odor from food you have used the applicator on.
I got this because I put olive oil on something pretty much every day, roasted vegetables in particular, and I was tired of constantly opening the bottle of oil, pouring some out, using something to spread and then cleanup. I tried this product for a couple of weeks. It is too easy to dribble oil onto the top of it, which you then need to clean. The oil that is inside the glass part can pick up odors from your last vegetable as you put the applicator in and out so that the oil didn't seem to me completely fresh any more. After all, you are putting the applicator into the same oil over and over, though topping it off again as needed. I don't use the product anymore and will pass it along to a friend; it may work great for her. I ended up dumping out all the oil and discarding it and going to a new solution. I bought instead a silicone brush thingy from the kitchen area of a dollar store and some little paper cups also from the dollar store. I pour a bit of oil into a paper cup, use the $1 silicon brush to spread it then toss the cup. The dollar store brush I find much easier to clean than the applicator that comes with this product.I am no kind of expert with kitchen devices; maybe I used this thing wrong and you will know better. For what it is, the quality of materials and construction is fine.

The lid did not screw well at-least for the product ...
The lid did not screw well at-least for the product I received . The design seemed a bit flawed and the oil suction didn't work well either.
