Sturdy and will not break like his previous shoe horn with a metal handle. It has a long enough handle for my tall husband, and aids in balance issues which we face in our 70s. It is a quality product and worth the price.

Delivery was next day, terrific! When I opened the box, I was immediately amazed at the spectacular finish on this piece. Smooth, not a blemish on it, all the lines just curved and swept together to form the perfect shoe horn! I had been apprehensive about the weight per previous comments, but the weight is perfect given this is a solid, not hollow utensil and has a brilliant clear satin finish on it. My hand grasped it like a glove - the handle has just the right profile for a solid grip, the width, curve and size of the blade fits perfectly into my size 12 shoes and slides out effortlessly with ease. Glad I went for the 24", I stand at 5'11" tall and this size works perfectly! Wish I had purchased three weeks ago - I'd have bought a dozen as they would have been the perfect gift for family and friends! It's like an heirloom piece, the solid construction and awesome finish should last for generations. Going back to Amazon Prime to order one for my son-in-law as I speak! Don't hesitate to buy!

This is an excellent shoe horn for putting on boots (construction, hiking, etc.). I put the horn down the back of the boot and the foot slides right in. The metal thickness is just right - thick enough to prevent the horn from bending (many reviewers commented that it can double as a weapon to beat off house intruders) and yet thin enough, so that it does not obstruct the foot's sliding motion into the boot. The black horn itself was perfect - there was no chipped paint, so I didn't have to touch it up with a Sharpie. This is such a good tool and such a pleasure to use, I now understand why other reviewers raved about it and gave it 5 star ratings.

This is the most sturdy , strong and helpful shoehorn. It has lasted a long time and would recommend this product to any needing help putting on their shoes. Great gift for the money and has not bent out of shape.

Some time ago I had a knee replacement and it was considerably easier to use a long shoe horn than the usual short horn. That long shoe horn was essentially a piece of sheet metal with a curve pressed into the length of it and powder coated. While it lasted me a while, eventually I stepped into my shoe awkwardly and the shoe horn bent. Having come to appreciate the functionality of a long shoe horn, I went looking for something a little heavier duty and I found this one. I'm impressed with the quality of this shoe horn. It should be strong enough to last me the rest of my life. It certainly won't bend like my old one did. I see in some reviews people complain about it being too stiff. Personally, I see that as a plus, not a problem. The only issue I have with it is that there is a slight backward curve at the shoe horn end, somewhat like what a short shoe horn will have. After years of using a straight long shoe horn, I find this angle a little awkward, but I have managed to adjust to it. I chose the "silver" model because it was the least expensive and I had no reason to spend more on another finish. There is a loop at the top of the shoe horn and you can use this to hold onto it when you use it or to hang it up . It has a bit of heft to it. Since I keep it with my shoes at the front door, I figure I can always use it as a weapon if someone comes barging in the door.

This love affair (18 mos. and going strong) started with a gift for my dad. He is losing mobility and was constantly (and inadvertently) bending his lesser shoe horns. He loved the OrthoStep so much, he next gifted me one. He told me that he thinks of me fondly with every seamless use, and wanted me to be able to do the same of him long after he "departs". I do not use the term love affair lightly. We just acquired our fourth (all 24 inch) from OrthoStep and our love of/for them has not diminished. They are so amazing, we had to have one at every entrance/exit to our home in addition to our go-to in the bedroom. These things are rock solid and tall enough to use easily, while standing. I even use one regularly as a staff to raise myself from the floor, after retrieving shoes from the closet floor. They are so sturdy, I believe they could be used to thwart intruders. There are simply no detractors. The fit and finish are impeccable. The balance is great. The grip is substantial and easy to hold with aging hands. Better still, they are so artfully made, they remain on display at our exits; no more squirreling away behind proximal furniture as we were wont to do with our elder ones. So far we have two brass, a brushed nickel, and a silver. No color favorites, although the brushed brass fits right in with my theme bedroom corner table and the brushed nickel happily invokes my father. If anything (say a nuclear blast) was able to ever harm one (and I remain dubious), I would replace it with same without hesitation or reservation.
