Exceptional Knife from LionSteel
This is my first LionSteel knife and I am extremely impressed! I came across this knife not long ago and knew it would be a great tool based on its design and my preferences. Not only is the quality, craftsmanship, and Niolox tool steel exceptional, the T5 is among the best knives I've ever used! The size, weight, and blade geometry is perfect for a mid-sized knife. The overall length is around 10", with the blade length at around 5", which is big enough to handle the majority of tasks well, yet not to big, front-heavy, clumsy, and uncomfortable to use for extended periods. This knife is super comfortable! The single-piece milled Micarta handle is exceptionally crafted to accept the recessed full tang (similar design to the Helle Temagami) and is just as comfortable as my LT Wright Genesis, which is pretty much my go-to field/bushcraft knife. The T5 blade stock is a robust 5mm thick, which allows this knife to take heavy abuse, including batoning wood if that is your cup of tea. This knife is designed to excel as a mid-sized field/survival/tactical knife; however, the drop-point design with high saber grind allows this knife to also excel at bushcraft tasks including slicing, cutting, carving, notching, and splitting. The spine and tip are very strong and the spine is slightly tapered, which the designer likely did to remove a bit of material to allow for the knife’s aesthetics and exceptional balance. The spine is also slightly notched at the heel, which strrikes a ferro rod well and serves as a comfortable thumb rest when choking up for detailed work. The knife is very stout; and at just over 9 ounces, it does not feel heavy to carry or use. The T5 comes with a black, leather belt sheath, which is also MOLLE compatible. The sheath is exceptionally crafted, double stitched, and secures the knife very well. I'm very happy with this LionSteel T5. I had been debating between the LionSteel T5 and the Bark River Bravo 1.25. Bark River also makes exceptional knives; the Bravo 1.25 is an exceptional tool and also would have been an excellent purchase, but I have no regrets choosing the LionSteel T5 over the Bark River at this time.

Extremely comfortable ergonomic handle
It's such a great blade size. Very sharp out of the box, almost too nice to use ... almost. Sheath is sturdy, handle tapers nicely by knuckles and has a great palm swell. I use it mainly for bush crafting. Can baton small stuff, but not recommended (i use a survival machete or camp axe for that task anyway). A little small for my XL hands, but so stinkin comfortable that it really doesn't matter. Highly, highly recommended.

Excellent overall knife
I'm usually not one for stainless steel in a blade I'm using for camping/bushcraft/etc. But...this is the exception. I did have to re-profile the edge which is pretty normal for factory knives. Otherwise, the handle and everything else is excellent. It seems to hold an edge quite well and is still decently easy to sharpen when needed. This has become my go to knife when I've been out backpacking now. I actually got another one just as a backup in case it gets lost or something. UPDATE: After about a year and a half of this being my primary camping/hiking/bushcrafting or whatever knife, I still love it. I made a boltron (like kydex) sheath just because I like them better than leather so I can't speak as to the leather's durability but it seems good. This is good usable steel. It holds an edge decent and is not too hard to sharpen. The shape is perfect for most of what I do. If you're looking for a good, usable knife, BUY this!

Whole lot of knife for the money
These knives ship with the knife outside of the sheath with a blue foam protective cover over the blade .i took the cover off and noticed a weird haze on the blade. i cleaned the blade off with 70% rubbing alcohol and it totally removed the haze. this finish is not really satin .it is just not a mirror polish .the contrast between the Niolox tool steel blade with the black micarta handle is beautiful.the Italian leather sheath is a really nice touch .Lionsteel builds world class knives in a state of the art knife manufacturing facility in Italy.Niolox steel is prized for it's corrosion resistance and for it's enhanced edge retention.not long after doing my review the snap from the sheath came off,It took it to a gentleman in Annapolis who specializes in Italian leather handbag, shoe and luggage repair.he said that the original rivet did not fully expand and he replaced it with a new one.it cost me 10 bucks for the repair, the shop owner and one of his other customer thought it was a great knife.i would have to agree. with them.
