Leaves a bit to be desired, but has proven itself
Update: after having the mount for a few months, I've gained more confidence in it. I am careful to keep the bands from twisting when I place the phone in. I have not had any of the bands come loose in 650 miles of riding. I do recommend it.Orig. Review:I've used the phone mount several rides now and I find I'm not completely confident it is going to hold my galaxy S9, although I do have to say, i do have proof it did secure the phone in a fall. I fell not being able to release from my pedals soon enough and it did keep the phone safe, so I may being a little harsh in my criticism as I have actual proof it did what it is intended to do.My concern comes in the round bands that go over the corners of the phone, if they have any twist in them, riding vibrations will cause them to roll off the corner of the phone, I had this happen it was a bit heart stopping to think only a small silicon strap was keeping me from an expensive repair bill. But, the phone was held by three straps. My concerns are of possible failures rather than an actual failure.

Secure but not for mountain biking
Update 10/22/20:Love the mount but I would only use it for road biking. I did about a dozen 10-20 mile rides with no problems. My only short 1 mile off road trail managed to shake my phone out but it was pretty bumpy the whole time. Probably better to go with a more secure locking mount for off road trails.Flipped over a car with my phone in this. The phone didn't budge and continued playing my playlist. I'm fine, landed on my feet and the bike wasn't damaged. Good product. 👍

almost perfect
I had a prior version where the phone mounted landscape and purchased this one to get in portrait which fit my mounting scenario better. This one also improved accessibility for buttonless iPhones which is a nice feature, however the mounting bands that hold the phone on this one are much stretchy, assuming it allows for a greater range of phone sizes. The downfall of this is that it's also much weaker and I've had numerous instances where the corner rolled off my iPhone 11 Pro Max, which is the largest of phones, so I assume it would be worse for smaller phones. I use it mountain biking and I get a little worried that I'm going to lose my phone and not realize it, something I never worried about with the old mount. Would like to see those bands strengthened up to secure the phone better.

This holder would not secure my I phone Xs
This holder was not designed to hold an Iphone XS. The description clearly states that it would work with the XS. The silicon straps would roll right off the phone allowing it to fall onto the concrete cracking the glass protector. You really need to rewrite your fit description. Very Unhappy customer.

Good quality but not for big phones.
I just have one observation. This is supposed to take up to 7.2" and my samsung note with a cover is 6.8" and I have to pull so hard to make it work. I'm worried about how stretched are the rubber bands. Hopefully it holds well without fails.

Preforms better than it looks!
This little gadget actually surprised me. When I got it, initially, I did not think it would hold up or hold my phone at all. I placed it on the top tube on the frame and it has worked great! It does not wiggle and my phone stayed in place the whole ride. Not sure how long the rubber will hold up, but overall it has been a good purchase!

Galaxy S9 keeps slipping out
First, the good: this is cheap and a snap to install. The specs mean it can handle larger phones, even when they're in a protective case.Unfortunately, there are two significant issues with this that are making me look for a replacement after only a few weeks.First, when riding over anything bumpier than a suburban street, the mount doesn't have enough grip to keep the phone from sliding out of position. When riding on a rail trail, I had to keep repositioning the mount every 30 minutes or so. The clasp is as tight as it can possibly be.Second, my Galaxy S9 is in a hard protective case (Supcase). It's well within the published size limits for this holder. But it's been less than two weeks since I purchased this and the phone has popped out of the mount three times while riding. One of the bottom corners will snap back behind the phone, leaving the phone supported by only one mount. If I catch it in time it's easy to just reattach it -- but if I don't, one bump and my phone is going to fall out.I'm not doing any extreme offroading or mountain biking or anything. 90% of my rides are on suburban streets and well-maintained rail trails (mixtures of pavement, concrete, packed dirt, and packed gravel) with an average moving speed of 12-13 MPH. This is probably okay for someone who does slow rides and sticks to paved roads, but I don't trust it on anything longer. I'm searching for a replacement now.

Great item.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S20+ and it holds tight to my phone. (I can use it with or without a phone cover)

Not for larger phones (i.e. iPhone 12 Pro Max)
Products is easy enough to use, however it relies on rubber to hold it to the bike. The product fit around my phone (with the Apple protective case), but while riding the phone shook around continuously. This was on paved paths, so I was not going to try it on an unpaved path (like in a park). Maybe this product works better with smaller phones, but using rubber does not hold the phone well. Would not recommend for the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and suggest removing the larger phones from the ad.

The mount is not good enough.
it's durable because of the silicone material, but when i tested it for galaxy note 10+, the silicone strap behind looks about to break. The mount is not good even in galaxy s9 which is smaller than galaxy note 10+, I did trail ride which include rocky and roots..so a lot of shaky ride.. after riding it for less 5mins. my phone goes down, it is safe but you end losing view on your phone.I'm still trying to figure out how will the mount stay in place without moving downward.

Easy to install, easy to use
With my latest iPhone 13 Pro Max and its case, my previous bike mount was not working. Thankfully, the Bike Tie Connect Kit from Bone fixed the issue right away.I installed the kit on my handle bar, but I could also install it on my steam. It's up to you.It supports big handle bar diameter.I'm glad that I found a kit that works.
