TayMac 5550W Paintable Masque Wall Plate Cover, White, 3-Gang

This thing serves my purpose for it pretty well. I bought it because I have metal plates for all of the light switches and outlets for the entire house. After buying the house, I wanted new light switch and outlets and matching plates because it seemed like the prior owner had a great way of putting in completely random outlets and switches throughout the entire house, none of witched matched in any way.After I updated everything, the only matching switch plate that I couldn't find was one for the kitchen, which had three switches in a row, the only one in the house that was set up like this. I looked everywhere for metal 3 gang white switch place covers that had rounded edges like this, and had zero luck. I checked all the local home improvement stores, (I am from St. Louis, there are quite a few.) and all over the internet with no luck. Finally I stumbled across this one.It is not metal at all, and I knew that going into the purchase, I came to terms with the fact that a metal one was nowhere to be found. So I went for plastic. It doesn't match perfectly, and I don't expect it to, it is a different brand and a different material, of course it won't be a perfect match.The color and shape is exactly like shown in the picture. It is decent for a switch plate cover. I don't know how well it can be painted on because we are not painting it, as of right now any ways. The white color it comes in is just what we wanted.The only reason I am giving this review four stars instead of five, is because it comes with plastic screws. I was screwing it into the wall and one of the screws broke in half. Why would they make the switch plate have plastic screws? Sometimes switch plates screws have a lot of pressure on them trying to pull the switch up to the switch plate, I think that was a terrible design flaw. It is possible that maybe they do this for paintability, but I feel like metal screws can be painted also. Regardless, I had to go to the store and purchase some metal screws instead because the plastic ones just weren't working out.For a recapPros:- Looks decent.- made of a thick, almost bendable plastic, so if the switch plate is taking pressure, this is a good thing, it won't snap like some plastic switch plates.- Very fast shipping might I add (nothing to do with the product, and varies from seller to seller, but still a plus)- Looks exactly as shown in picture.- (filled my strange need, most people reading this review are probably not buying this for the same reason I did.)Cons:- The only con I had was the plastic screws, and that was con enough for me to take a star off. Poor design my friends. I had to run up to the store the next day to get screws because all the stores were closed when I tried to put this in. This was not ideal and quite frustrating.Unknowns:- Long term durability. (I may come back in a year to update. If I haven't, feel free to comment and ask how it's working out).- Paintability. Note that I didn't purchase this for that purpose, so I don't think I will paint it and test it's paintability. If I do, I will update the review. Not likely though.

It's amazing how much impact such a small item can have! We decided to switch from tacky builder's grade plastic outlet/switch plates to the paintable ones and were glad we did. Unfortunately, the big box stores only carried the ones and twos. First, we tried to just paint what we had... big mistake. Then, I ordered these, and they are perfect. Well, I wish they were metal like the smaller versions, but the scale is the same, so the look is uniform throughout the house. They look great.

I purchased this wall plate because the dimensions listed would have fit my outlet great! However, I was very disappointed to receive these in the mail only to discover that it is the same size as the one at the store. At least the one at Menards was only like $2 and didn't cost any shipping. Whomever wrote the product description must have measured the plastic wrap the product came in and most definitely not the wall plate itself.Off to searching again, since nobody seems to have an oversized 3 gang wall plate. :(

needed an oversized 3-gang wall plate cover, got this one because product dimensions say 8.3 x 6 x 0.5, was very disappointed when recieved item and it only measured 6.5 x 4.75 x 0.5. product is attractive looking, just doesn't fit my needs at these measurements. will keep looking.

Great looking switch plate covers. Much more attractive than the standard contractor covers. Can be painted although I leave them white which gives a clean, neat feeling. Very durable.

Nice quality. Didn't come with any screws to attach the plate to the light switches. Thank goodness I already had some on deck.

Wall plate matches the other single and double plates used when remodeling our house. Will reorder in future!Bad: Home Depot doesn't carry this item and the manufacturer, Taymac, does not sell this item unless it is in bundles of at least ten, thus forced to web-shop. As far a Amazon's part, piece was priced as advertised and shipped with no defects. And if I recall correctly the item was received earlier than initially indicated.

These really look great and kinda blend in with the wall. No sharp edges make it nuvo.
