Does the stand rotate to ice a cake?

No. Just a basic cake stand. I have put a glass cake stand on a cake turntable with a piece of non-skid plastic underneath and it works fine. Hope this helps.

The top of this stand is affixed steadily to the base and does not turn. Other than sliding it across a smooth surface it would not be a turntable and I wouldn't recommend that if you had a heavy cake on it.

Am I missing a part? The wing nut goes halfway onto the base only. What is happening?
