Great for Roasting Peanuts
This coffee roaster is great for roasting peanuts and super easy to use. Roasted peanuts are the best. This roaster roasted by peanuts just right making the smell and taste perfect. It has adjustable temp levels. It is made with heavy duty material leaving to believe it will last for quite some time. It is very easy to clean which is a plus for me. The price took a lot from my pocket but I find it to be worth it as it works well. I will try it with coffee in the future but for now roasted peanuts are my thing.

Great roaster
This roaster is great. I don't have to babysit it like I do my whirley popper setup. Don't get me wrong, I still keep an eye on it. But with that I said it to the highest temp to preheat for about 5 minutes. That's awesome and I lower the heat just a little bit, and then I let it do its thing. Follow the recommended size for how many beans you can throw in there and it roasts pretty evenly. We tend to pull pretty shortly after first crack and get the beans cooling really quickly afterwards. It's our preferred roast. Size is great. It fits nicely in my cupboard. I've been enjoying fresh roasted espresso every single day.

Affordable entry level coffee roaster or popcorn popper but be prepared for the smoke
This is an affordable entry-level coffee roaster that works well but comes with some challenges—poor instructions, heavy smoke, and messy cleanup. If you’re willing to deal with those, it delivers good results for the price. Setup & Instructions The machine is basically a popcorn popper. The instructions are mostly in Chinese, and the few English notes are split between popcorn and coffee. There are no guidelines for proper roasting temperatures, so you’ll need to Google your preferred roast level. Temperatures are listed only in Celsius, so if you prefer Fahrenheit, you’ll need to convert. Performance & Ventilation The machine works as expected, but ventilation is critical. Roasting coffee produces significant smoke, and this machine does nothing to reduce it—it simply vents through holes on the top. Without good airflow, you’ll set off smoke detectors and the smell will linger for days. We ended up using it outside, which worked well. Cleanup After roasting, oils from the beans leave a stubborn brown coating on the glass. It looks unpleasant, so thorough cleaning is essential. This is normal for coffee roasting, but be prepared for the mess. Chaff Removal Once roasting is complete, you’ll need to remove the chaff. The easiest method is to pour the beans into a colander and shake them outside on a windy day. This cools the beans and blows away the chaff. Indoors works too, but it’s messier. Finished Product The roasted beans turned out great, and the process is much easier than roasting over a fire. If you enjoy flavored coffee, you can add extracts or spices before, during, or after roasting, or store beans with cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, or vanilla for 24 hours to infuse flavor. Price & Value We paid just under $80 for this machine, and similar models range from $70–$110 online. For an entry-level roaster, it’s a good value—but expect smoke, smell, and cleanup. Pros and Cons Pros: • Affordable entry-level coffee roaster. • Produces good quality roasted beans. • Easier than fire roasting methods. • Allows flavor customization. • Simple design—easy to figure out. Cons: • Poor instructions (mostly in Chinese). • No temperature guidance for roasting. • Temperatures only in Celsius. • Generates heavy smoke—requires outdoor use or strong ventilation. • Messy cleanup due to oil residue. • No built-in smoke or chaff management. Recommendation: If you’re new to coffee roasting and don’t mind dealing with smoke and cleanup, this machine is a solid budget option.

Enjoying so far
Takes a while to roast but unlike other methods that I’ve used, there is no smoke and you have very good control over the level of roast. After getting this and a quality grinder, I can’t imagine going back to ground coffee. Only negative is that the noise can be annoying after a while but I roast in a room where I can close the door so problem solved.

Great performance, I love it
This coffee roaster has made my coffee much better every day. It's super easy to use, even though I'm new to roasting. It roasts the beans just right, making them taste and smell amazing. Plus, it's really easy to clean, which is great. It cost a bit more, but it works so well that it's worth it. I really love this machine and think anyone who loves coffee and wants to make it even better should get one. Made worth heavy duty material and feels very durable, has many levels of heat temperatures to set it on

Better than I expected for home roasting
This roaster has totally changed my coffee game. I’ve been experimenting with different beans and roast levels, and the results have been surprisingly great. It heats evenly and the adjustable temperature control gives me a lot of flexibility, especially when I want a darker roast without burning anything. The non-stick surface makes cleanup painless, and it works just as well for nuts and other snacks. It’s not the quietest machine in the world, but it’s way more effective than I thought it would be at this price. The capacity is perfect for my weekly batches. If you’re serious about fresh coffee and don’t want to spend a fortune, this one is a win.

An upgrade from the popcorn maker.
I will begin this review by stating that I was concerned about buying this coffee roaster because of other reviews. I always read the reviews beginning with the one stars and work my way up from there. That being said, I truly enjoy this little brewer. It took a little getting used to, especially due to the lack of detailed instructions, but I should have predicted that. I think I expected it to roast faster, but that is not based on anything other than my reading about brewing times on various forums and from coffee sellers. Roasting coffee is an art, with some science imbedded into it. It is not an exact science, however. Once I got comfortable with the fact that good things take time and come to those who wait, I was not disappointed. I was, and continue to be, cautious about not overhandling the appliance when it is too hot out of fear of breaking it. I also tend to let the motor run with the heat off as it cools. I have roasted about a dozen batches so far including a couple batches of decaf (the first was an utter failure, not because of the appliance but because I was worried about burning the beans). I have brewed blonde and medium roast Ethiopian coffees as well as robust dark Brazilians. I did a side by side roast with my trusted popcorn maker and it is not really any slower to use this appliance vs the popcorn maker if I am roasting 12 oz of coffee. the brew time was about the same. The quality of the roast is better with the appliance, which is probably attributable to the slower roast. It is not quiet, nor is it noisy. It is a machine with a motor and sounds like one. Overall, this is a good starter roaster for someone who wants to move beyond the thrift store popcorn maker or cast iron skillet and wants to have more consistency. I will keep learning.

Slow roast
Burnt beans. First batch. Inaccurate temp sensor. Uneven beans. Takes too long. 45+ minutes to get to first crack at 240 setting. Much longer if using step method. Requires external thermo for accurate temp readings.
