Perfect play kitchen
I purchased this kitchen last Christmas for my older son (had just turned 2 at the time) and am writing this review 9 months later. This kitchen is wonderful. My almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old LOVE it. They both play with it multiple times a day. Originally the baby played with it (at around 6 months) by pulling all of the food out of the multiple drawers and cabinets. He then learned it was also fun to put the play food back in the cabinets. He progressed to learning to put other household items in there. Now at 1, he mimics what his big brother does and loves to put his sippy cup in the fridge. My almost 3 year old has started to make me meals, learned to serve said meals on plates, and pretends to do the dishes. This lets them make up their own games and grow at their own pace, which I love watching. It is amazing to see their little minds work. Here is a little list of important features and pros/cons: Pros and cool features: -Light above sink is perfect for a 2 year old who isn't into imaginative play yet... they still like lights! -Microwave, oven and stove top make sounds - stove top has lights and sizzles (one of the burners only) -Color scheme is adorable and looks nice in my house -Phone attached is a favorite of both of my kids - my older son "call daddy tell him food time" haha -Has a lot of storage -silverware drawer, 2 upper cabinets, large lower cabinet, 2 drawers -Has a recycling bin- we recycle a lot so that's a cute feature- also happens to be where we store the pots/pans -Refrigerator and oven are pretty big Cons: -As others noted, the oven door doesn't stay shut well. It's not a big deal really. I suggest a piece of velcro or one of those pads that go on the bottom of dining chairs. Anything to help the side touch better so it stays in place. It was a 10 second job to fix it. -Assembly is a beast, but it is with any of these toys. I don't think it was any more difficult than any others. Maybe easier actually. -I wish the sink made noise My kids are 40-50% for height and they both can reach everything just fine. It is a great size for them. I added pictures to show this.

18 months old and its perfect size for her
For my purchase of the Sweet Bakers Kitchen Set i rated it at 5..Very Easy to assemble and i would recommend using a drill but if thats not an option don't worry ..i started without the drill and had no problem..There is about 7 screws and a few of them are long screws to put in, so i used a drill to drill a small hole in the plastic to install the screws then i used a Phillips head screw bit in the drill to tighten them down..Careful and just go slowly and do not over tighten them...just stop short of them being fully tightened then finish tightening them with a hand held screw driver...I do that with mostly all the projects i get into.. Now for the review.. i give 5 stars as this kitchen set is made of heavy thick plastic which is nice for me because i put it away when the grand daughter isn't here and its not too heavy for me to move around but yet heavy enough for a toddler to have the toy stay in place to play with it..This set is very sturdy and will last many years..Assembly was very easy and took more time to put the decals on it than it did putting it together... not many parts to assemble..Where the screws go, it is indented to make sure you put them in the spot where they need to be..The toy accessories are great and well made too...not the cheap stuff and quality is there with them as well..It may seem pricey to some but i would rather spend the money on a quality item than something cheaply made like everyone would... My grand-daughter is 18 months old and plays with this kitchen all the time..

This kitchen is a must-have!
My daughter, 17 months old, loves this kitchen! I bought a damaged box item and the box really wasn't even that damaged. All the items inside were present and nothing in the package was damaged either. Yes, this item does need a power drill to get the holes started, but putting it together was relatively easy, and applying the stickers was even easier. My favorite features include the two different sounds the stovetop makes when you put the frying pan or pot on it. It's not too loud, and it only cycles through once if the pan is left in place. The microwave is also another item that makes noise, and my daughter can barely reach the bottom buttons, but she likes the ones she can touch. The phone is also pretty cute, but is a bit quiet. I wished it had a volume control, but someday I'm sure I'll be thankful it is that quiet! I also like all of the different storage places this kitchen has. The fridge, microwave, lower left door, the oven, a pull out drawer and a generous bucket holds nearly all of the kitchen food items I bought to accompany. ( KidKraft Tasty Treats Play Food Set I was also amazed at the amount of accessories that came with it! Aside from the proprietary pot and pan- the plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, and salt and pepper shaker were great. They are of great quality and have not suffered any chew marks, dents, or bends like some of her other plastic toys have. I also love the "stainless" look this kitchen has, as well as the realistic counter and cupboard colors. It makes it feel more real, and not just a "boy or girl" toy. The only minor thing is the fridge is a little too tight to open and close for a 17 month old, but I'm sure over time it will loosen.

Great toy but CHEMICALLY FOOD
Going to leave the most important part first incase this is where people stop reading. MAKE SURE TO WASH THE ACCESSORIES THAT COME WITH THIS BEFORE GIVING IT TO YOUR CHILD. I bought this for my 15 month old. I have always washed every toy before I give it to him. This is the first and only time I haven’t, because I put it together at 2:00 am for him, he saw it when he woke up and was so excited, so I just let him play with it. 2 days later, I was playing with it with him, and “ate” the corn on the cob. It tasted HORRIBLE and actually burnt my tongue. I then “tasted” the burger bun and tomato to see if they were the same and they were. Like they were completely coated in chemicals or something. I had my fiance place his tongue on the red triangle piece without telling him why, and he said “Oh gross! My tongue is on fire”. I have had the worst mom guilt because I’ve seen some of those pieces in his mouth. They are fake food, this is for children, they are going to go in their mouths. WHY are they like that? I soaked them in boiling hot water, scrubbed them with Dawn dish soap, soaked them again, and “tasted” again. They were still like that. I’ve done that 3 times now. They are currently drying and then I will “taste” them again. If they are still even slight like that, they are going straight in the trash. The dishes and utensils didn’t have that problem from what I could taste. But as I said, the food is going to go into most children’s mouths. This is why I have this a 4 star. I’d my son didn’t love it so much, I would have given it a 1 star just for this alone. The toy itself is great. My son spends a lot of time playing with it. It was pretty straight-forward putting together. It takes a lot of batteries. A few of the stickers didn’t fit properly which was pretty annoying. But overall I’m happy with the purchase. Just really wanted to warn others to wash the food before giving it to your children.

Durable and Has All The Bells and Whistles
This play kitchen really has all the bells and whistles! It has plenty of doors and cubbies for kids to open and store things. I also love that it comes with play food and dishes too. My only complaint is the ridiculous directions. They were seriously impossible to read however, I found a step-by-step video on youtube that made it super easy to follow and put together. Altogether it is durable, fun, and worth the money.

USE A DRILL
Omg it’s perfect but putting this thing together was a mess. The only thing that helped was my old electric screwdriver but it was still struggling lol high quality plastic, the doors open easily, looks like our old kitchen and we love the colors. Too bottom heavy to really pull over but light enough to push around and lift so it seems safe enough. Kids love it. Worth the 3+ hours of trying to put this together without power tools but never again

Don't hesitate! Buy it!
This was easily the best birthday present my daughter got for her birthday this year! The delivery box is HUGE buuuut that's because it's basically all set up. Putting the few screws in took me and my husband about 10 minutes, and the stickers were easy to put on too. It's been a few weeks since h her birthday and the kitchen has been played with constantly (literally every day) and even fell over (due to my 1 year old trying to climb it lol) but even so it hasn't broken, chipped, or gotten any scuffs. Not to mention it's so huge that my 3 yr old and 1 yr old can both play with it at three same time without the need to push each other to have a turn haha. Definitely worth the money!!!

nice item for the price
I read over 50 reviews on this and debated on whether to purchase this or the more expensive kidkraft kitchen for about a week. As a 104 pound single mom with no power tools this purchase made me nervous...however, that being said, I bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. I might have an unfair advantage (im a massage therapist) but I didn't think this was this difficult to put together. I used a screw driver, hammer and did it all by myself in about an hour. There are No predrilled holes it's true, but there are only 3 2.5in screws that really require any kind of serious force to put in. ..the others are quite easy. And its a great kitchen at a great price. So excited for my son to wake up to this on Christmas morning. My item arrived unflawed (some reviews talk about a defective oven door) though the box was basically falling apart (was not impRessed with Amazons shipping dept for sending out a box that was in such poor condition but whatever...) the only real downfall to this item is that there is not a lot of storage space for food (the refrigerator, oven & pantry cupboard are much smaller than they appear in the photos) so I had to buy seperate cabinet to use as a "pantry" as the kitchen itself does not have enough space to store the items I purchased in addition to this. I also dislike that there is no counter space on the kitchen. Overall though, its a great item for a great price and very sturdy. Don't let the negative reviews freak you out. If I can put it together, so can you
