I'm seriously impressed by these. These are rated for 12 hours but, I was able to use one to navigate a pitch black room 18 hours after initially cracking it. The glow was pretty faint after 18 hours but still serviceable in a pinch.I'm definitely getting more to throw in all my kits.

Red is good for marking different things, but not as bright as other colors. Industrial appeared just as bright as this Military grade one.I compared the six colors in both Military and Industrial, see images for more information. Overall, I did not notice a significant difference between the Military and the Industrial grade. I do like that the wrappers on the Industrial ones show the color clearly, while the Military has only the name of the color. I've found that they last the time advertised, note that the white and blue ones are rated for less time than the others, 8 hours vs. 12. (There are other models with differences in brightness/duration). The brightest ones by my measures, were the Yellow and Green ones, followed by the Orange ones. Red, Blue, and White would not be bright enough to read a map; but are good for marking things in a campsite or elsewhere. Other uses: give each child a different color so you can locate them easier, marking different hiking or skiing trails, or use different color to locate first aid/water/etc..

They are bright and last as manufacturer stated. Also you can see them from a mile away. Used them on the beach front, so I know where the path I used is located.I have a bunch for personal use and for camping, in my vehicle, on my ruck sack/backpack.Update:I ordered the Red and Orange chemlights. Upon receiving it, I usually open one to see if is red/orange. The red one is a different color than red, more pink than red. The organe didn't wasn't the color organe either, it was more of a yellow. I opened 2 pack of each color and they were both off color. Not sure if I got a bad batch or the colors were mixed?I do have the regular version and I tested those and the colors were the correct color in the single package.

Very bright, these have decent luminance even several hours after being activated. I tested on just in the last week, and I am impressed.
